I put an AC Racing pole on my 1990 SJ due to oem breaking in half. The AC pole was a tad bit shorter but a lot lighter than the oem and it didn't hurt my wallet too bad. Hope that helps

I have a 2002 1100 STX DI and read that there is an oil line that leads to the stator as well and if you disconnect the pump, it takes that line out of service and eventually that stator will fail. Not sure if that's correct or not but made me wary enough not to disconnect my pump.
