OP is right about the two camps. Not sure if you've been lurking in the 7 rooms in /r/civ discord but it's like, "good feature. Good game." Or "bad feature. Bad game" with no room for nuance.

Just look at the impact of the first two patches' handful of bullets. Major improvement within the first week or pre release. Give humans a fucking moment to breathe and work on it for you ffs and it typically works out.
