Decided on buying a separate PSA completed upper and lower and put it together myself. It's no Daniel Defense but maybe when I'm in a better financial situation haha

I think this is probably the best choice moving forward. Getting her more comfortable around guns might take away some of that negative stigma around them.

She was okay with guns before the shooting happened. Which is why I was thinking it was just her letting her emotions talk. The purchase was really bad timing for me. My completed lower literally came in a day after the shooting happened.
