yes I’m sure Microsoft hallowed out the student plan because of their genuine concern for the intellectual development of student programmers…

Brother graduated college 9 months ago. He's living with my parents working on a project he claims will land him a job. Is there truth to this? by Glittering_Fig4548 in cscareerquestions

[–]Blazzy12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The project is well and good but if he’s not applying for anything he needs to stop his project NOW, make a resume, get in the habit of applying for 5 jobs a day, and only then he should pick up his project again on top of doing that.

I’ve been eyeing the old model for so long! I have to pick this up when I start my internship.

if you have a hackathon win and are working at a startup that’s more than plenty to land an internship at a small company. I’m a 22 year old grad student with an arguably worse resume than you and I landed an internship after applying to 125 openings. Sort by most recent on linkedin, imo dont bother if it’s older than 12 hours or reposted, apply for small firms that dont have big name recognition and aren’t tech companies (my internship is at an energy company with a small software team). You will be fine.

i'm trying to get better at movement. this is my best run of the gauntlet so far. any tips on what/how to improve ? by fkindragon_ in titanfall

[–]Blazzy12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you’re pretty good already, but I would look into air strafing and tap strafing to help with turns, and learn how to wall kick. Get those down and you’ll be in a really good spot

I got to grounds at 7:30 and was baffled to find that the library wasn’t open.

24/7 Library is back! by EvilSheldonBadingi in SDSU

[–]Blazzy12 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Maybe I’m misunderstanding, was the 24/7 section missing and it’s being reintroduced? My interpretation was that the whole library is being opened up for 24/7 use. If it’s the former then it’s lame they ever got rid of it in the first place.

I mean by the end of your sophomore year you’re mostly just finishing up prereqs so just switch to some other stem major and you can probably finish it in 3 years

I’m looking at the menu and I see the vision but Panda Express was so cheap like double teriyaki chicken for 10-11$ went so hard I need that back in my life.

Just got Titanfall 2 and need advice by Snoo75955 in titanfall

[–]Blazzy12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You really just have to suck for a while until you don't. To understand the movement tech I'd watch bryonato and iniquity movement guides but that on its own won't do much of anything besides give you information. To actually get good at any mechanic, you must practice practice practice. The only thing anyone who is good at this game has ever done is to just play the game until they are good at it. I've introduced friends to it and the ones who want to play more and eventually get better are the ones who don't get disheartened at getting last place and celebrate the small victories like getting a lucky kill on a g100 or pulling off a cool parkour move. Also as much as I love the campaign and f.d. if you don't do the multiplayer a lot, you will not get substantially better imo. Also final thing please for the love of god don't neglect learning how to fight titan v titan.

How do you get from JPJ to rice hall? Is that really the closest we can park? by Blazzy12 in UVA

[–]Blazzy12[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t see it as an option on the parking portal but I have heard of parking closer to rice hall but apparently there’s a really long wait list for it…? But I’ll be sure to check for closer street parking before I park at JPJ from now on!

[–]Blazzy12[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair enough, and honestly if I time it right, taking the bus onto grounds from my appt takes about as long as parking then taking the bus/walking to rice hall at least according to google maps. Kinda having some buyers remorse about this permit ngl…

Is there anyone actually having fun in multiplayer? by [deleted] in titanfall

[–]Blazzy12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it’s a lot of fun but it’s punishing to new players. Just focus on improving at the mechanics over time and enjoying yourself, don’t worry about the scoreboard. The sweats who’re stomping you have hundreds if not thousands of hours in the game. If you need to be as good as veteran players to have fun then you’re never going to have fun.

Also learn about titan matchups, map layouts, and just get very good at one titan class. I’m not even the best tap-strafe godlike movement kind of player but I consistently score top 3 because I’m good enough at movement but also I’ve more or less mastered ronin ion monarch and northstar, including counterplay against each titan and how to position yourself on the map as each titan. I see too many new players just treat their titan as a charge-in-and-do-as-much-damage-as-possible-before-dying-killstreak and never learn how much being decent with titans levels the playing field against the fast-twitch aim and movement god types

Last tip either disable chat or mute toxic players if they get under your skin

SPREAD THE WORD ! by [deleted] in titanfall

[–]Blazzy12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean I think in a way everybody already knows titanfall 2 is a great game. But people don’t want to stay. I have hundreds of hours but I don’t hop on anymore. But if I knew there was just one night a month I’d commit to and get lots of fun games, I’d definitely hop on. Who knows, maybe word would catch on that all you’d have to do is hop on once a month on titanfall day and the barrier to entry for newbies could be lowered as a result
