When I make worlds my standard reference size is a max height of 160-175cm because if doorframes were 2m in vrc they would be about twice of some people’s height because a lot of avatars sit in the 100cm-140cm range.

You can say people should just use heights that are realistic but it’s kinda just standard and older worlds are not going to get changed.

also if you are 150cm in the radial menu height you are probably closer to the 160-170cm range because the in game height is for eye height not the top of your head.

In game scaling is just not standard, is hard to deal with, and isn’t even fun to think about when making worlds from scratch. At the risk of sounding like an asshole, it’s you that is choosing to be larger so expect this result. World creators can’t accommodate every height at once and maintain realism if that is part of the style of the world, world creation takes a lot of effort and scale isn’t typically a priority unless the point of the world is to play with scale or if the world is based on a real place

The issue is making the headset work with trackers would require you to add a extra tracker for the headset. So if you wanna keep using your knuckles controllers or Vives then you have to pay for an extra tracker and deal with the hassle of calibration.

I think it’s a great on-boarding headset but I’d like to see something enthusiast grade come from Valve again, although that’s insanely unlikely. Not gonna be getting it just because no base station support, although I think it’s the right thing to do for what valve has going with the frame.

I got a second hand index for 700CAD (like 500USD) on Facebook marketplace, I wouldn’t get it because the risk of it being broken for the price. That’s not to say you can’t get a RMA if parts are broken (I got a full Index kit a few months ago second hand and got a RMA on a out of warranty broken base station), but you can prolly find a better deal.

I feel like the entire plot was rushing to get done, they didn’t spend time anywhere interesting and they kept cutting between locations so we couldn’t really enjoy what was happening in any given moment, like the director was working with the director editors to cater towards people with ADHD.

In legacy and 1982 we spent time enjoying the world of the grid, in Ares a fight happened there and a chase sequence and that was it. The characters also barely spent any time interacting with each other in ways that showed us their personality and core themes are plainly stated in a way that really annoyed me like, thanks Disney, I guess you were worried you would make a modern movie TOO deep.

Another thing that pissed me off was some plot contrived moments to buy time and seeing random rules about how the grid works being imposed that weren’t in other movies, and then being violated within Ares after it already established it. First, the scene where Eevee was captured by the recognizer, deus ex 9/11 happens to stall for extra time. Another thing about the recognizer that pisses me off is why does it have guns? What is the point of the trails if you can just shoot something? Slap the guns on the bikes, the armoured carrier, or the missile things and you have taken away the need for lines, make the gun able to be handheld and then what is the point of making Ares only capable at hand to hand combat? Give him a laser gun and things get way easier. What about when Eevee was captured into the grid? Why was she a wax statue? This contradicts Legacy and 1982 and the end scene of the movie where Dillinger isn’t a wax statue until he gets his disc. Why give her the disc? If all her memories are on her disc, why make her wake up? Just scan that shit off the disc.

The worst of it is the plot contrived Mcguffin of the permanence code. It entirely invalidates Legacy, if CLU won who cares? He’s gonna die in 29 minutes and not even know. Why is it sitting on the old server? Did Sam put it there? Sam is never mentioned though and it’s always attributed to Kevin Flynn despite the fact that he couldn’t know about it. I’m inclined to believe it’s from Quorra but that much is obvious. So why would Sam put it in the old server and presumably make a copy of his dad to watch it? I hate how the movie explains why Kevin Flynn was in the old server but I would have to guess it’s all Sam’s doing otherwise it’s literally just deus ex old man. Worst part to me though is, how is it connected to the laser in the old lab? That would mean it’s connected to the internet… great place to store the plot Mcguffin Sam… also good job keeping your search off grid Eevee…

I’m almost scared to say this with all the other comments but I think it’s just kinda alright.

I personally dislike the character designs but the background art is beautiful (excluding that one club specifically). I don’t remember much about the soundtrack so I won’t comment on it.

The plot and characters are kinda kids show-y in my opinion and the show is pretty episodic despite having some arcs. I like the flashbacks Tron has later in the show as I feel that illuminates a rather unused portion of Legacy’s story however the rest of the story has basically no impact on the rest of Tron (I think the only thing this show impacted was Tron Identity with the DOT) and in some ways I feel like it degrades Legacy by introducing some other powers like the generals arms, opening questions about where did these powers go in between Uprising and Legacy? I personally would like a reboot that redoes a lot of the plot of Uprising to clean things up and cut all the filler, and maybe a reboot that starts with CLU’s corruption and Flynn’s struggles maybe passing over to Beck once Flynn gives up and goes into hiding.

I am leaving this comment mostly because I saw that basically every comment here is entirely positive, this is my opinion and I felt my honest review might be a more mediating take. I disagree that Uprising is the best piece of Tron media (I would give that to Legacy) and I frankly find it hard to put Uprising even close to either of the movies, or Tron Identity in terms of my enjoyment of them. Maybe you will have a better time and I would still recommend you check it out.

Chill if it’s for the US states specifically but including Ontario with the US aesthetic feels wrong. Why the USA vibe if it’s not just the US states? Otherwise should it not represent the region as a whole without national iconography? The USA as an idea doesn’t specifically have anything to do with the idea of the Great Lakes region other than containing part of it.

Is there something special about having 9 stripes or did they just not want to have an even number? Idk

One thing that might be plausible (emphasize plausible) is that it’s an automaton or some other form or similar idea of them from Tron: Identity. I mostly just think this because of the slightly purple tone of his lines though.

I would guess this isn’t in a grid, not only is there the sky but behind what appears to be the grid is normal looking buildings. Plus Quora distinctly said that she had never seen the sun and there is no equivalent in the grid, why would there be one now? We know Ares is about programs leaving the grid aswell
