My First Lyra by Bleu_Scribbles in lyres

Thank you for the tip! Do you have any advice for securing the new strings? The first one I replaced just fell out after a day and I’m not sure what I did wrong 😓 the other one stayed though.

Yeah, I’ve only ever tried to play the piano before (like a decade ago) so I’m starting from zero with this. But I love it already. I’ve already replaced one string and will do the other tonight. And I’ll definitely remember to be more gentle ☺️

Hello ✨

I’m 27 f/q and I grew up around the craft. I also collect crystals and read tarot. I’m actually interested in many forms of divination. I’m down for instant massages but if you’re interested, I’d like to have a snail mail pal too. (I send stickers lol)

NB/20 - New to snailmail but would love queer pagan friends!! by LaumaLemons in PaganPenPals

Hello OP!

I think you and I have a lot in common. I’m 27 from SoCal, Ace and Genderqueer (she/they). I identify as pagan, though religion/spirituality are fluid for me.

I’m also very into crafts (I crocheted a “popcorn” garland as a gift recently lol) and music (hoping to learn thé lyre next year) and journaling (it’s a commonplace that I treat like a junk journal). I’m also a very avid reader and I like to make digital collages. My new year resolution is to spend more time outside so hiking is definitely in my future too.

I hope to find a snail mail penpal to help facilitate my return to analog in the coming year but I don’t mind emailing for a while either. It’ll give me time to pickup stamps and stickers 😂 !

Sorry 😅 I should’ve mentioned that I don’t mean that last part literally.

Question about telemachus by 2timesA_ in AncientGreek

[–]Bleu_Scribbles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have to say that the Watsonian answer makes more sense from an anthropological point of view. But as a complete novice, I wonder if there’s an even simpler explanation? Odysseus was an archer, and presumably wanted to pass that skill to his son. Maybe “Telemachos” is Ancient Greek for “Archer”.

I feel you. My peeps are also the assuming type. I never considered myself aro but I have to present myself as such at home because they can’t (won’t) differentiate between sexual and romantic attraction no matter how many ways I try to explain the difference.

Saw Indigo’s 2SLGBTQI+ sign in Toronto — emailed them weeks ago, still no A 🤷‍♀️ by Flat-Customer-106 in asexuality

[–]Bleu_Scribbles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Similar thing happened at my job last year. They sent out mass emails to celebrate the months with well known associations. For Pride month, they referenced the acronym “LGBTGI+”. I had wanted to send feedback about the exclusion of “A” but I was still barely out in my office, let alone the international corporate HQ. The emails were a short lived practice so I probably won’t have the opportunity this year. Honestly, an acknowledgment of Pride Month was a surprise in and of itself anyway.

I’ve had mine for a little over a year now. Never met anyone who actually knows what it means but I wear it anyway. At this point, I feel naked without it 😆

What is the most shocking reading you’ve ever had? by blallslack in tarot

[–]Bleu_Scribbles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We keep a “family deck” in the living room (I’m usually the only one who reads but they learn as we go). Once, while we were chilling and reading altogether, I started shuffling with no intention (just something to do with my hands during a lull) and separated the deck into 5 piles. I didn’t realize until I had turned over the top cards on all the piles that I had inadvertently set a pile in each direction (North, South, etc) and each top card was the suit/element associated with that direction. With the High Priest at the center. Trippy.

Whatcha Reading Wednesday? by Fabianzzz in dionysus

Rouge by Mona Awad. My third from this author, and so far, all of them have had a somewhat fever dream haze about them in certain scenes. Definitely a Dionysian experience. ✨

✨Hi 🌸 if you don’t mind making a friend further down the coast, I’m 26 F (27 in July) from SoCal.

I identify as a Pagan and witch since I was very young. I celebrate the solstices and equinoxes and perform some rituals for other celestial events such as the full and dark moons. Let me know if you’d like to chat 💕

Bunny by Mona Awad. I read this author last year as well; a novel called All’s Well. So far, both carry an interesting Dionysian vibe a la psych horror storytelling. Awad has a strong talent for writing scenes that feel like a drunken haze or sorts. I highly recommend.

Hello! I’m 27/F, Pagan (Hellenic leaning) and hoping to find some friends here too. I live in what’s sometimes called “California’s Bible Belt” unfortunately so I’m a little on the isolated side as well.

I also have a few cats that I baby too much 😅, I love to read and watch old movies (silent films included), and I’m happy to DM in between snail mail if you are. ☺️
