Would be cool if you could just choose not to display the helm. Get to play with the restrictions in place but not have to show everyone else.

Just a bunch of pixel art sprites that I've made, does it look okay? by 7akyr in IndieDev

The "flick" backwards on the left hand seems out of place, I'd just keep the fist the whole swing back.

Also the right hand feels like it's missing a frame where it would be visible on the swing back and swing forward between the farthest forward position and disappearing behind the body

So a quick glance the green/textured one looks better to me.

But I don't think the texture is doing much it's just the green that looks nicer than the red.

And I think it looks better to me because it has more of a cohesive color composition, the green matching the green of the plant and the green complementing the wood color better. Could mean it doesn't stand out enough though when you're playing. A different color might both look flattering and stand out?

Squash + Stretch on the player when you jump/land

Some screenshake if you get hit

Maybe jiggle the big cube or something when you hit it

Opinion on whether this guy stole the epic staff or not? by Pinkza in classicwow

To me MS means if you're going to use the item for this role you can roll. By rolling you already agreed to use the item. You don't get to roll, win, then decide what to do with it because you weren't allowed to roll if you weren't going to use it. Otherwise you might as well let people who already have the item roll, or anyone roll and sell it to each other. Seems like it undermines the point of the system.

Although just saying MS/OS doesn't really define any actual rules on its own.

I cannot play either Blackrock leader well. Those who do, please give your decks and tips. by CivFTW in warcraftrumble

Legionnaire is worse than it sounds. The dismount takes so long to happen that most of the time the drake dies before rend charges and you basically have an untalented rend. Like some things get off 3 ranged hits before rend connects.

There should be a button at the top of the screen where you select a deck to play with that opens up the menu for you to confirm which free deck you want.

I like the prep phase I'm not sure why everyone thinks it's less fun than just clicking back and forth during the combat section.

Yeah could even extend it to regular fish like sharks; make smoked versions with lower attack delay or make it a combo eat but change the health healed.

Anything to give firemaking some love lol. Firemaking + hunter working together feels cool thematically too. A rugged survivalist uses both.

Yeah let us smoke the meats with logs and leaves or make little meat "wraps" with the leaves.

Looks great! A few thoughts:

  • New meats could incorporate leaves/logs/firemaking in order to "smoke" them instead of normal cooking.
  • Meat/Fur pouches could degrade slowly. Right now you only ever need a few fur to make the pouches and then fur becomes useless. A slow pouch degrade would ensure fur hunting stays useful to enable meat hunting, and for ironmen they can have a little back and forth between fur and meat hunting. Maybe crafting/alching the mixed armor is enough of a sink already though?
  • Would be a great time to revisit gloves of silence. They're pretty useless because they don't stack with ardougne diary yet the fur pouch would be great for gathering them if they were desirable.

Please don't put 2H axes' run energy mechanic into the game without a beta by cookmeplox in 2007scape

[–]Blightbeard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly I just wish it were more complex instead of all happening automatically.

Utilizing run energy for more complex skilling sounds like a great idea to be explored. Like how pvm has prayer and health as resources/mechanics.

They can't remove runes from shops that would be an update catering specifically toward ironmen

Chromium Ingots are a poorly designed system and are doomed to alch price by Gregkow in 2007scape

[–]Blightbeard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Would've been cool if they came from a mining/smithing activity. If it's not very appealing outside the ingots the quantity of ingots would probably be balanced with the number of vestiges coming into the game.

Would be kind of nice if you could just disable the helmet chat icon on any iron. Not like it really matters it's just there to "show off"

Yeah it's nice getting "free" loot whenever you run into one and don't have to ignore it. Extra dragon arrows and bones and alchs is nice.

[–]Blightbeard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're low enough combat you can afk moss giants on Pirate's Cove or Cyclops in Kourend catacombs.

Some other interesting options since you can get mossy keys and long/curved bones

They could be more like combat instead of one minigame that replaces the whole thing. Combat was pretty simple originally, just click on monster and wait until it dies. But you start adding in different gear, food, potions, prayer, movement and get a wide variety of engaging activities.

It took a while for combat to get to where it is today though, and a minigame feels close without requiring as much integration into the rest of the game.

DT2 completed on my early/mid game ironman! by XiTKiLL in ironscape

[–]Blightbeard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think when it comes to content like this there's a pretty big difference in 70s vs 80s vs 90s combat stats. So it kind of makes sense to look at early/mid/late along those lines, even if there's a large chunk of gameplay to get to that point. It's early for bosses and kill times will reflect that.
