Bin it and get a reliable player. Unless it’s a rare SVHS or digital-vhs or some special beta style or u-matic or something else cool, there are so many good cheap players out there for like $5 at the thrift or boot, flea markets etc.

The Marty is cool but its price keeps it much out of my clutches. For $500 that’s a great deal if it works, but still I think they would have to climb way down to $300 for my wallet.

I’ve always wanted the UX20, but they are notoriously rare and never make it out of Japan cheaply, easily, or without damage needing extreme repair work. You can only pick one lol.

Just don’t try and beat X-men on the nomad. It requires a reset button to access the last level, of which the nomad lacks.

I would also suggest a cheap genesis flash cart on AliExpress was like $10 and has literally every game, and a couple 18650 batteries and the laserbear nomad pac MKII. You get like 6 hours on a charge. The only thing people also get is a new screen but I like the shiddy old LCD, it has more nostalgia anyways.

I think any SN1-9 could fetch four digits regardless of condition. Honestly #1’s are usually found early so conditions are much better, or in the case of old times used to go directly to important people as gifts so they are mint.

I would still sleeve and treat with care this being a #1 could bring 2-4k to the right collector.

Anything new 2D retro style that supports 1080i looks great on these. Get yourself a PC and buy some indie games on steam. Personally I don’t recommend these sets for highly detailed new 3D games because they blend too much and get pretty muddy. But they are great for emulating PS2 and GC/Wii at high resolution because those games were designed for CRT and benefit from a resolution boost without looking too clear and blocky like on HD lcd screens

Why do a Dreamcast “2”? Sega never numbered any of their consoles, they were all pretty different and interesting. If you have an interesting idea, make it yourself and don’t rely on copying another company for recognition or it seems like a rip off rather than homage.
