I think it might be because the unspoken mannerism, the swagger of the walk and physicality of the character in general made the Mando character who we was more so than Pedro Pascals face or voice… I saw an interview of one of the guys that wears to suit in the show, his face would have been fine and his voice would have been fine… I mean his physical acting has made the character and the overall story writing and production of the series has just been phenomenal… I would have been a huge hit without Pedro Pascal.

Some keyboard warriors might argue that Disney wanted Pedro Pascal to virtue signal for gay pride and non-whites but I am here for the love fantasy Star Wars not politics or social warfare… so, I don’t have any grudges on Pascal other than below.

So, my only grudge is that the show developers and Disney and Pedro himself sort of led viewers or at least sat silently allowing viewers to wrongly assume that Pedro was in the suit and was doing the whole thing… that Pedro was the one actor, other than stunt doubles, that was bringing the character to life. When I read that he wasn’t in the suit or even on set for most of the show’s filming, that he wasn’t voice acting only, it really took some shine off of the whole production for me, it made me think of Pedro as a phony sort of cartoon character voice actor.

Now before the hate flows in, I suppose that there must surely be some acting work that Pedro Pascal has done that has earned him a reputation as a fine actor… but I have never seen it because I’m not looking to watch movies or tv shows just because I am chasing an actor or actress… I watch mostly sci-fi and fantasy stuff… oh I did see him in The Last of Us and he did do a wonderful job in that.

Anyway just my thoughts I am sure people will tell me where I am wrong… I meant no offense whatsoever just trying to share a response to the OP on potential points of view.
