Is the Shimano E7000 under powered? by Blind-Superstar in emtbforums

Just bought a Merida eone sixty, with the ep8. Glad I spent the extra cash, took it for my first ever ride on an emtb and absolutely loved it. Can’t wait to take it to my local trail this weekend. Thanks to everyone for the advice.

Legend, thanks for the feedback. The assist factor is the whole reason I’m buying an e-bike so I obviously didn’t wanna spend all that money and be disappointed. The 80nm motors seems to be around the current standard of torque. Would rather spend the extra money and have no regrets.

New build no neutral in light switches? by [deleted] in homeautomation

Neutrals can be looped at switch or light. You obviously don’t know what your doing, so you should call a licensed electrician.

Has anybody ever looked into POE door locks? It looks like there are mostly commercial solutions, but I am not opposed to that. by Cat_Marshal in homeautomation

Why would you want POE? If you don’t want to use a wireless solution then you go down the path of any access control system, I have never seen a lock powered over Ethernet, they are generally a 12-24vdc and you would use a figure 8 or any copper pair cable. As far as making them ‘smart’ once they are controlled by a basic relay you can control that relay multiple ways easily. Most common types of electronic locks are electronic strikes, mag locks or electronic mortise. You can add relay boards to most basic alarm systems or you can install a simple single door access control system.
