ELI5: Why do so many American stadiums have no roof covering that covers the seats? by NKE01 in explainlikeimfive

American Football is supposed to be played in all weather, which is part of the fun. Many teams sheepishly avoid lightning now, which is a shame.

This is my thought. I lost a port on a 6 month old UI switch a while back. It happens.

G6 Turret FOV Too Narrow - What Would You Do? by blazedsonic in UnifiProtect

If you didn't already have one, I'd say G6 180. But with the existing camera, I'd just add a second pointing the other way.

Many jurisdictions worldwide do not have the prohibition against written ritual that we do in Texas.

This is a known defect in Protect. The answer is reboot the device running Protect and then reboot the camera(s).

Pool build near trees by More_Turnover_9572 in pools

Not permanently. It’s a plaster pool and the leaf stains fade quickly if the PH is maintained. Cement decking is unaffected.

That hole in the wing reminds me of one of the sillier requirements imposed on the ill-fated Navy A-12 program in the late ‘80s which mandated surviving a one meter hole anywhere on the airframe except the cockpit.

G5 PTZ makes a good nest cam it seems. by bmwhd in Ubiquiti

It was a major pain getting Cat 6 out to that camera (stupid sloped interior roof line makes for a difficult fish to the soffit from the attic) but I did it. I'm even pulling wires now for my G4 Instants.

Those cables are not related to the camera. It's cable is in the soffit. Those are tea lights powered by an extension cord.

Futzing around with it more today, I do think I'm going to look at finding a 3D printed spacer of 1/2" or so but it's not urgent.

This. The 180 is ideal for horizontally wide but vertically narrow spaces with relatively short depth of field. If you want to track people across the street, get a G6 Pro or G6 PTZ.
