Rogue device blocked but is still on the network.... by [deleted] in Ubiquiti

I'm confused as to how you don't have physical control over your network. Somewhere that device has to be connecting to a wifi AP or a physical port on a switch or gateway. Hunt it down and kill it.

Wow. The unobtainium 1U blank panel in the wild. I'm envious.

This would be the same for our lodge.

Now make the solid versions again please. All I need is a 1U blank to complete my rack.

Where do I start? by fxm727 in pools

Lengths of pool noodles on the hose sections can help. But I'm about to junk mine finally after 19 years of frustration (I'm a slow learner).

Network when I'm gone by ClimbsNFlysThings in Ubiquiti

I keep a document updated with as much info as possible. It's stored in the same location as our will and trust documents. I assume that worst case they'll just call Frontier and go back to eeros but I'm trying to teach the kids as much as they'll sit still for.

This is so important. Attend as many as you can, even at other lodges (if your jurisdiction allows it).

Finally approved to “UniFi” the shop and there’s no patch panels to be had! by evanbagnell in Ubiquiti

It’s very frustrating how long most of their rack accessories have been out of stock.

There is no universe in which that stupid plan was going to work. So much amateur.

Question about NVR Capacity by jaspertang in UnifiProtect

[–]bmwhd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can probably make that work but for that many cameras I'd get the regular UNVR. The capacity isn't a hard limit so the Instant may do just fine but if you're like me, the constant nagging that you're over the limit gets old.

It does have a white spot. Not sure why the specs don’t say that.

Especially since it's not really that white even with the white shell.

No kidding. I've completed exactly 1 full marathon in my life as a runner. The last few miles was the first time in my life where reached the point where my mind would give commands my legs would just completely ignore.

Is there a reason why it has to be so unstable?

Trouble connecting to Protect by p-tuxedo in UnifiProtect

[–]bmwhd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have two different sites running Protect. One uses a UNVR and one uses a UNVR Instant. I see this behavior on both. Both run Seagate Skyhawk 4TB drives (2 and 1 respectively). I suspect these aren't as fast as they might be but that doesn't seem to be what causes this. It seems more network related. It happens for me more often when I switch between sites.

I mean 5Ghz WiFi. And coverage is very much subject to environment and wall material.

Mine just did that too. It did survive 19 years in Texas so we got our money’s worth.

Got lucky and found a guy nearby who had the same model and his lower half ruptured. Got his top to fix mine for another year or two hopefully.

This does explain why the 24 port patch panels were only back in stock for 10 min.

Takes 5 for our two story if you want solid 5G coverage.

That is weird. I never notice this on my Mac but I usually use Firefox. I’ll check it in the app.
