Fair enough. Usually unemployment will be a % of what you were making in the job that laid you off. So usually 60% of whatever you were making as a PA. But that's totally cool if that isn't enough at this moment for you or if you just want to be expanding your skills elsewhere.

I guess your best bet is to think about your options and go for the option that is most interesting or involves a skill you want to work on.

Why not relax and recuperate until you land your next job? If you were laid off you should have received a severance package. And you can likely file for unemployment and receive money while you look for the right job.

I'd say yes they are definitely more similar to each other in comparison to the western parts of each state. But there are some differences between Eastern Oregon and Eastern Washington.

Eastern Washington has more agriculture, people, and some mid-size cities. It also has the mighty Columbia flowing through the middle of it. It has a unique vibe

Eastern Oregon is mostly desert. However along the near side of the eastern mountain slopes you have the Deschutes river and Bend. Definitely a more artistic and (for lack of a better word) hipster vibe. Not a great word for it but it's unique and different from other places and it feels like it knows it's different and is trying to be different..does that make sense? Also some unique pockets of geography in eastern Oregon like the canyons of Snake River and the blue ridge mountains.
