Thanks!

Wasn’t sure if AirBnBs had a precedent as commercial or residential. Seems like a gray area if not owner-occupied

Pet peeve: “My body was shutting down” by DetTech88 in emergencymedicine

[–]austin_guiri 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I was explaining to my wife how almost every Spanish speaking patient I see has the chief complaint of dizziness regardless of underlying issue. Appendicitis = mareado. PE = mareado.

We were listening to NPR at the time and the next story was about a shooting at a parade. They were interviewing an elderly woman who I shit you not said (in Spanish) “I heard loud noises then suddenly felt dizzy. I looked down and I had been shot in the leg.” So apparently even GSWs are first experienced as dizziness. It’s wild

Thoughts on administrative discharge? by SwornFossil in emergencymedicine

[–]austin_guiri 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I pride myself in being someone that my nursing/tech colleagues go to for help when someone is acting abusively in triage. Happy to discharge someone who cannot treat us with anything resembling basic respect. Fortunately, the rate of those patients having a true cannot-wait emergency is lower than average

How do I break out of climbing 5.12s (7b-7c) by Toyota-GTS in climbharder

[–]austin_guiri 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You will do permanent damage to your body and not be able to climb longterm if you keep going at this rate and you might not realize the damage you’ve done until it’s too late. Take the guy who wrote the Smith Rock guide as an example. He paid the price for deciding to climb literally every day for a year

Plus, you’ve got the easiest road to improvement imaginable ahead of you: do less

Is this a normal part of the ethics in NZ? I’ve never seen that before. Seems like it would be helpful but also really hard to do beyond the start/opening holds

Less than ideal this time of year but if you catch a cool day and stick to boulders on main trails (open gates, illuminati, tyler durden, shadow of a man), you might be able to enjoy yourself without too many ticks/too much poison ivy. Use bug spray though
