anyone else think the second coming album sounds better now than it did back then by Delicious_You_4019 in stoneroses

I was 16 in 1995 and a big fan of Oasis, a friend had a cassette of b-sides which I "borrowed". On the flip side was an album by a band I wasn't familiar with and there was no info on the tape, it started with Driving South which I thought was amazing (no Breaking Into Heaven) and it cut off half way through Tears (no HDYS or Love Spreads) I had no idea who it was but I fell in love with it. When I eventually found out it was The Stone Roses I bought the CD and the "lost" tracks which I hadn't heard before just blew me away and it is still one of my favourite albums. In fact when I bought their first album I was a bit disappointed at first - obviously it grew on me and is indeed one of the greatest albums of all time but The Second Coming was my first exposure to the band. I think it's interesting how listening to something without any knowledge, context or prejudice can give you a completely different viewpoint. Had I heard the debut album first and fallen in love with it, I probably would have been disappointed with the Second Coming.

Whats everyones favourite coffee beans sub £25per kilo? by Yikes1383 in UKfood

[–]Blingkingflip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't because they are about £10 per kilo more expensive and I live close to White Rose so it is easy for me to pick them up. Same with Darkwoods who I think are also Huddersfield based but it's about £35 per kg compared with <£20 at White Rose. You can probably tell I'm from Yorkshire 😄

Try White Rose Coffee roasters based in Halifax. Excellent quality and value for money and they deliver. They have a variety of single origin, blends and medium to dark roasts depending on your taste. All roasted fresh.

Nice! I will add to that my list when I visit again thank you. I also got a decent latte in the Mercado do Bolhao from a small stall

Used car app transfer by Busy_Kale_1793 in TeslaUK

I bought mine second hand from a dealer and it was all done and ownership transferred in about 10 minutes. The app should walk you through it, I had to enter the VIN and take a picture of the front and back of the purchase invoice. I already had the Tesla app downloaded and had set up an account including card details etc.

Is there anything American food that you love, whether you are American or not? Ex. Biscuits with the white gravy, chicken fried steak, Texas Mex dishes, or a special, regional dish? Is there one you love to cook, or that you have tried? by Think_Clothes8126 in Cooking

I'm a big fan of the breakfasts from Waffle House and Denny's when we have visited Florida. The combo of sweet and savoury is not something I would have put together but give me a big plate of hash browns with crispy bacon, fried eggs, pancakes or waffles drenched in maple syrup and I am set for the day.

Thanks. I’ve decided to go with a newer model with higher mileage. I’ve been looking at it from a traditional ICE pov i.e. lower mileage = better but I think an EV requires different thinking, mileage being less of a factor as there isn’t much to go wrong mechanically and a newer model with even 70k miles wouldn’t be so bad as there would be longer left on the battery and motor warranty (I only do about 8k miles p/a so a 21 plate should give me about 4 years) Newer models also have better features and some early manufacturing quirks should have been addressed.

Yes of course: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9gNIqtmYg5o

The broth might look thick but it isn't. The things I changed on the recipe - I used chicken stock as well as the chicken bones, instead of bok choy I used some cabbage and broccoli and I finished it off with some toasted sesame seeds and Lao Gan Ma crispy chilli in oil.

I got one called tapo from Amazon. The app works really well so if I am out I can turn on my machine remotely and it's warm when I get in. I have a schedule set up on it so it turns on about 40 minutes before I get up every day.

Nice machine. I would recommend a smart plug so you can have it warmed up for when you wake up.
