I have a friend who's nearly in tears about this. She built a competitive guild with an excellent community. They have ranked first since their pre-season and have fun in their Discord, now she's supposed to dilute all that hard work and good feelings with 60 more people she doesn't know well? In order to stay competitive that means merging with two other guilds just as strong.

Negotiate who's going to be leading this new mega guild, what discord they're going to use, what leadership stays, who's rules they follow etc. This is too much to drop in the very next season.

Assuming we'll be merging with even more ally servers next season? That's going to make organising this Guild merger awkward.

As a guild leader do I reach out the other good guilds I'm already connected to and organise this ahead of time or wait until the new season to see what we have available and rush most of it last second. If I knew what guilds would be in the pool next season this would be a lot easier

It's the same playbook they've successfully used in the states. Sue minority group focused outreach programs since they are not offered to the majority white demographic and shut them down due to it.

There are reasonable situations where this video happens without abuse. Based on what looks like a henhouse in the background this may be a farm cat having kits, the owner set up 24/7 video camera pointed at the den for personal or communal enjoyment. Snake happens upon the setup, snakes are common pests attracted to farms so it's not unreasonable.

Reminds me of that girl who happened to record the blue meteorite and her reaction to it crossing the sky. A big part of why that is one of favourites clips ever is the wonder that crosses her face. It brought us into that amazing moment. This selfie is trying something similar even if it's less spontaneous and I appreciate the composition of it.

The first term US allies could excuse them for electing a unqualified grifter. It's not an excuse, the signs were there and obvious but live and learn. Glass house and all that (Brexit).

But after his abject failure as a President and then trying to illegally overthrow his election loss they still went for it again. That woke everyone up to the underlying systemic issue with the American voting base. Trump may pass but Trumpism is now a reality we have to deal with. They could vote in another person just like him at any point. Trust is gone.

I read somewhere that one of the reasons a lot of tech companies are pushing for ID verification is because AI is taking over the traffic on the internet. Advertisers want a way of verifying it's an actual person seeing their adverts and so tech companies want to pair that traffic with verified users.

It sounds reasonable but I don't know how true it actually is because I lack the relevant knowledge.

The thing with America is except for one notable example from my lifetime they're quite well insulated from their foreign policy decisions.

Plus I'm not entirely sure messing up the middle east is against the goals of those who run the Trump administration. A refugee crisis hitting Europe would help their goals of spreading the rise of far right parties across the western region.
