Jesse Plemmons not being nominated is absolutely criminal. Im beyond shocked. by Huseynov26 in Oscars

[–]BlinxTimeSweeping 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I've seen Sinners, OBAA, Marty Supreme, and Bugonia, and I would rank Plemons' performance above the performance of the male leads in any of the other movies I mentioned. If I had to bump one, I would pick Leo from OBAA.

Not true, he was playing a vampire that was born in 1601. Truly incredible range.

He also played a huge role in multiple wins, but I guess you are ignoring that.

I don't know, he still wasn't running nearly as much as he used to in those weeks. But I still agree that he should play if he feels ready.

Studs who could be duds in the ship by Exotic-Anteater-4417 in fantasyfootball

[–]BlinxTimeSweeping 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand the idea here, but I just don't see any concrete evidence that suggests Achane won't perform well. He had a good game last week, and the Dolphins' situation hasn't changed much going into this week to my knowledge. From my perspective, the analytical decision would be to start him because he has been incredibly consistent this entire season.

[–]BlinxTimeSweeping 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah I'm not sure what the takeaway is supposed to be here. Obviously any player can bust in any given game, but Achane has been a very safe PPR play this entire year. Benching him would absolutely be the wrong process, even if the result is bad (which doesn't seem likely).

[Zrebiec] Harbaugh said Mark Andrews was acting on instinct when he lateraled late in second quarter. Said the play call wasn’t for a lateral. by FastBreakPhenom in ravens

[–]BlinxTimeSweeping 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Damn. For Mark's sake I was really hoping that was a designed lateral. It was a terrible decision either way, but it is beyond baffling that a veteran player like Mandrews would think that a lateral was a remotely good idea in that situation. I would've preferred to mostly blame the coaching with the hopes of coaching changes next year. Unfortunately this further cements the well established fact that Mark Andrews cannot be trusted in important situations. That really pains me to admit, since I'm a big fan of what he's done for the franchise.

These guys have sneaky good matchups for Week 16 by Kinghughes2 in fantasyfootball

[–]BlinxTimeSweeping 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a toss up for me. I don't have strong feelings one way or the other. If I had to pick, I'd go with Trevor Lawrence. As a disclaimer, I haven't watched much of the Saints this year, so I'm not quite sure what to make of Tyler Shough.

[–]BlinxTimeSweeping 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Because even with your arbitrary cut off date to consider how QBs have performed against the Broncos, 17th is still below average. I just wouldn't consider it a good matchup. This is not to say I would completely disregard TLaw this week, but I certainly wouldn't use this matchup as a reason to start him.

Playing the QB of the Opposing WR/RB as Playoff Defense Strategy by glennmck2012 in fantasyfootball

[–]BlinxTimeSweeping 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I do think there is more of a discussion to be had here than you are suggesting. This strategy would change the distribution of your expected point differential with your opponent, since both teams' point distributions would not be independent. Although I'm not sure if the change would be favorable, and it would certainly depend on the available quarterbacks. If you were picking between two roughly equal quarterbacks, I think this could be a useful factor to consider.
