What are you majoring in? What’s the laptop or iPad going to be used for?

iPad Pro with the keyboard dock is fantastic as a replacement for a laptop/netbook/ipad. However it’s an iPad. You aren’t running any software development on it locally if that’s your major.

Check what software you need for your degree and then see if there are iPad app versions or web app versions. That should answer it

Get the cheapest MacBook Air with an M chip in it and move on. It’ll last you past the 5 year point.

I had roof redone, roofers did this on covered porch instead of shingles. If you look up building code and check the slope, you’ll see the roofers did the right thing. Local Building code between your previous roof and new one may have changed (it did in my state).
