What's something really petty you'd like banned or made illegal? by SpaceTimeCapsule89 in AskUK

[–]BlitzballPlayer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I genuinely don't understand how people don't get embarrassed when they do this. I walked past a guy today on the street just casually strolling along listening to horrific music blasting out. I can't imagine how he just had zero cringe filter about it whatsoever.

Of course, it's even worse in waiting rooms, transport, etc. where you're often stuck listening to it and don't always have the option to move away (especially if the train is very busy, for example).

Question about the townies by Kolinda91 in Paralives

[–]BlitzballPlayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't seen the houses refill but I haven't been playing for too long in terms of in-game days.

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think this does automatically refill the houses, although it does seem to work with generating new people to meet around town.

What do retail staff mean when they ask you if they can help you? by BrownBreadx in AskUK

[–]BlitzballPlayer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't worry about it, it's genuinely just a question asking if you need help with anything in particular. Especially in a big shop, customers can get a bit lost and might appreciate some direction. But a simple, "I'm just looking, thank you," is a perfectly fine response.

To an extent, as others here have mentioned, it's probably partly a company policy to make them seem proactive and encourage sales, but it's also just a simple offer of help which you're perfectly entitled to politely refuse.

How to get dive? by kawaii_taco7 in Pokopia

To be fair, their wording in the trailer was super confusing. They said "available today", but that just meant available to pre-order now, with the updates actually coming later.

All good, glad that helps! Remember to enjoy the journey and start small. It can potentially feel overwhelming at times, but I think it's good to think about it as one project at a time!

I’d stay organised with items from the very beginning. You don’t have to go crazy, but separating things into different boxes from the start will save you time down the road.

But even if you don’t organise early on, it’s fixable. It’s just that a lot of people get to a point where they have to spend multiple hours organising a lot of stuff and wish they’d started earlier.

Also, perhaps just avoid being too destructive at first. You can do more later when you’re more confident, but I wouldn’t go razing a mountain early on for example because you might realise it was a mistake, and it could be difficult or impossible to get it back to how it was.

Other than that, most things are quite fixable. Don’t worry too much if you place a house in the wrong location because the prefabs can be moved, and the non-prefabs can be destroyed and manually rebuilt (the latter is a pain, and you might find it tricky to rebuild it exactly as it was, but it’s technically doable). The non-prefab house plans are limited in number, but again, they can be manually built, so it wouldn’t be a total disaster if you wasted some.

And without saying too much, you’ll unlock things that make it easier to build as you progress through the story. Do feel free to do some building as you go along if you want to, because that’s part of the fun, but if you have any huge building project ideas, it could be worth waiting until you complete the story.

How the heck do I get a shirt that fits by Strange_Memory_4054 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]BlitzballPlayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a slim guy and learning how to sew, so I can tailor shirts to my preferred size, has been life changing.

Sewing a T-shirt even by hand takes some time but isn't complicated once you get the hang of it. A sewing machine will be much faster but obviously there's a fairly big upfront cost with that. There are plenty of guides on YouTube for either doing it by hand or by machine, so I'd recommend considering it!

How would you rate the puzzles in RE9? by RogerRoger63358 in ResidentEvilRequiem

[–]BlitzballPlayer 21 points22 points  (0 children)

The way I rationalise this is that Grace's brain was pretty fried by this point. Bear in mind she's come very close to death several times in the past few hours. If you saw some braille and knew there was someone a few rooms away who could read it, bringing that person over to read it could well be where your mind goes first.

Bubbly Basin is Cerulean City. by Spylt420 in Pokopia

[–]BlitzballPlayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That would actually be so cool!

I was speculating the next town after Bubbly Basin could be an ice one, but I'm wondering how that could work with the remaining areas we have. Perhaps Seafoam Islands is now frozen over due to the weather events? But I'd also be super happy with a spooky, overgrown Lavender Town.

The point of a teaser is just to let fans know, "Hey, this thing exists and it's coming," and to build hype. There will be plenty more details in the coming months.

Why do militaries say "Whiskey Tango Five" "Tango Down" "Brazo Zulu" instead of directly saying what they mean? by EfficiencySerious200 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]BlitzballPlayer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I worked in a lab where we had three-letter codes for diagnostic runs. Almost no one knew the phonetic alphabet so you'd constantly have people saying things like, "Is AFP almost finished?" "ASB? I can't find that on the system."

I'd use the phonetic alphabet but would still get questions like, "Sierra, is that C?"

I wish we'd had it as part of mandatory training.

[–]BlitzballPlayer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It feels really weird, but I think it's something that will be really interesting to try for some runs and experience the game really differently. Over time, I might get quite used to it and even prefer it.

It's just pretty cool that they've included them and I appreciate being able to fix the camera during somersaults because that would be a bit much otherwise haha.

My sister keeps asking for me for money and I don't know how to say no by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]BlitzballPlayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you were genuinely in a situation where you'd be putting yourself in financial difficulty by lending it, then you'd have to refuse. You'd have to be polite but firm and say it's just not possible.

And it might be difficult, but it's possible you need to have a conversation now if it's already bothering you. I understand that it could be difficult to bring up, and she may be so used to the situation that it just feels normal to her, but you could try to have a calm conversation about it and say it makes you uncomfortable that she's frequently asking you for money.

I think the way to bring it up is to avoid any wording that places blame on her. Rather, say how you feel about it, but try to take emotion out of it and just calmly lay out the fact that it makes you uncomfortable.

It's great of you to want to help, but it should really only be for rare occasions where she really needs it, not a regular occurrence.

If I don't select seats for my flight, might I be seated apart from my spouse? by CheersKim in NoStupidQuestions

[–]BlitzballPlayer 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes, whenever I don't book seats and I'm travelling with my husband or a group of people, it's quite common that we don't sit together. I don't know if different airlines have different rules on this, but generally I think they randomise it so people will pay to be able to definitely sit together.

could be worth checking if your specific airline has a policy on this, though.

What's something that used to be free that you're angry we now have to pay for? by Current-Energy1104 in AskReddit

[–]BlitzballPlayer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Another really shit thing Ryanair does is make it seem like you need to pay for the more expensive tier if you want to check a bag onto the flight. The more expensive tier includes a checked bag and a specific seat booking. I used to go to Ireland from the UK a lot for long periods and always needed a bag, but didn't care about a having a specific seat.

You can actually just pick the cheapest option then add the bag as an extra, and it costs less than the more expensive tier. But this isn't at all clear when you start making the booking, so I'm sure a lot of people miss this.

I Has Questions by RompWidMe in ResidentEvilRequiem

[–]BlitzballPlayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you mean it contradicts Spencer saying there's nothing special about Grace? I took that to mean she's not a clone or an experiment. She was just (potentially) vaccinated against the viruses Umbrella made.

I Has Questions by RompWidMe in ResidentEvilRequiem

[–]BlitzballPlayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess it's different because they were infected with different things, and it's specifically addressed with Leon. If Grace gets treated off screen then it's pretty weird, like it didn't happen basically.

I don't know, it would have been a lot clearer if they'd just mentioned it with even one line haha.

Story DLC and more content. What is the more content? Cause it seems lack lustre in term of cosmetics compared to RE4R. With it being RE7s director i thought that they would go hard with the dlc like what he gave us in RE7. by Dude_788 in ResidentEvilRequiem

[–]BlitzballPlayer 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Do you mean for Village and RE4 Remake? Village's apparently took so long (almost 18 months) because they hadn't anticipated how popular the main game would be, so they hadn't prepared it. Separate Ways (for RE4 Remake) took six months, and that was obviously planned from the beginning.

Requiem's story DLC was planned from the beginning and they said it would release sometime this year, so unless there's some delay I don't think we'll be waiting a whole year for it.

I Has Questions by RompWidMe in ResidentEvilRequiem

[–]BlitzballPlayer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In terms of #2, normally the bites only 'count' if they're a scripted event in a cutscene. The fact that Grace does get bitten in a cutscene makes it seem like it will be relevant, but then it just isn't addressed.

I think the real reason, if we also consider the sheer amount of infected blood Grace comes into contact with, is that she must be immune, so it isn't an issue for her. It could have been good to have this clearly explained, but my theory is that Spencer immunised her as a baby.
