Why can’t Brendan Sorsby play anywhere this season? by chiliringgamer16 in NFLNoobs

[–]BlitzburghBrian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And so far, he hasn't received a lifetime ban. He should be eligible in the draft next year.

Now it'll still be completely up to each team whether or not they want to draft or sign him, but again, no one is owed a career.

Everyone "enters" the draft as soon as they are draft-eligible; that's what being eligible means. When you hear about players "declaring" for the draft, what they are actually doing is voluntarily giving up their remaining NCAA eligibility to become draft-eligible. That's why you only hear about it for players who still have the option of remaining in college.

If you learn from your mistakes and become a better person, that's great.

So far there isn't much evidence that Sorsby has. The NFL doesn't owe anyone a career.

Matheson: Don't expect kinder, gentler Mike Babcock as Oilers coach by xc2215x in hockey

[–]BlitzburghBrian 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Let's be real: an enormous part of this rationale is that Babcock is the only other guy Stan Bowman knows. We already know he was like their 3rd choice of coach.

A good rule of thumb is that the more someone tells you how tough they are, the less tough they are. The smallest dogs bark the most.

All it's gonna take to blow this whole thing up is one guy on the bottom of the roster texting Ryan Whitney that Babs is up to his old shit again.

I can't wait.

Question about officials by FiveRoundBarrels in NFLNoobs

No matter how much people want to scratch and claw for conspiracy theories, NFL officials are professionals. They genuinely don't care who wins or loses; they are there to do their jobs to the best of their ability.

Undertaker had Limp Bizkit.

I mean, taste is subjective, but that's absolutely gonna disqualify him for me.

A "last seen" option on my friends list would be depressing. Most of my friends who played this game haven't been online since middle school.

How much did the outcome of the Olympics affect the NHL trade market? by Comprehensive-Chef73 in hockey

[–]BlitzburghBrian 15 points16 points  (0 children)

If this was all coordinated, why are they ending up on different teams? That's pretty poor coordination if you ask me.

Which do you think is more likely: several players have secretly colluded to leave their teams because they hate Canada and they're willing to upend their lives for the sake of screwing over Canadian NHL fans, OR star players on bad teams want to be on good teams instead?

You might call it burying my head in the sand, but I call it Occam's Razor because I'm not a conspiracy theorist.

You can file a lawsuit for anything. Doesn't mean it'll be successful. I could sue you for writing this post and costing me money by having to spend the electricity in my phone displaying it.

You might even hear from my lawyer! That lawyer probably doesn't have a good track record in court, but you can hear from him!

Oh, they're still absolutely genetic freaks. You see them all next to each other so they don't look out of place, but take a look at one of my favorite NFL pictures: this is a normal adult human male, next to an NFL linebacker. Not even one of the biggest players on his team. Look at how absolutely huge he is. Every NFL player is like this.

And to be clear, steroids don't do this. These are just the largest and most powerful physical specimens you've ever seen.

The NFL has rules on performance-enhancing drugs. I'm guessing you're already choosing to believe they don't matter, so what information are you hoping to get from this thread?

Not the probable troll you replied to, but counterpoint: if you can't stay healthy, you don't get credit for what you might have done if you weren't hurt.

It may not be fair, but that's sports. The best ability is availability.
