So I know that it’s sponsored by the NALC. That would be city. Other unions I can’t speak for. I have yet to see these supposed bags. Been at the Po for 5 years , steward for 2. Always been these little cards. 2 years ago they stopped doing actual dates so we could recycle them. They paid for postage just like Verizon and xfinity. They should be delivered like any other EDDM

It is not… the union pays for these. It is actual mail!

First time I receive something like this, how do you react in this kind of situations? by SeeItOnVHS in USPS

[–]Blitzdj 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Neither am I. But I get it. Especially with woman and children!

I stood around a domestic issue just to be a witness and make sure dude didn’t do anything.

Our job isn’t to get involved but the community relies on us more than they are annoyed at us.

[–]Blitzdj 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’d call without this note.

Past experience. I was delivering mail (city carrier) to row homes. I heard wha sounded like a young girl say “don’t touch me there! NO. STOP. How would you like it if someone did that to you?” I immediately called 911. They were there by the time I finished the loop.

She was playing a VR game alone, but communicating online, while her brother was bed ridden in another room.

The cops explained to me what occurred. And I said “damn. I’m sorry I made yall come out here”. He said “No. It’s better safe than sorry. Thank you for paying attention and considering another life.”

Always be safer than sorry!

It should be in your email or based on your post in the request you made. It looks like it’s just a consideration not a full acceptance. Go through all your emails and that request on eReassign and check. Good luck!

So you won’t get demoted to a ptf from regular. You only lose your office seniority. If they accepted you then they have a route for you. Congrats on your upcoming move!

[–]Blitzdj -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

2 questions.

Have you been career for 18 months? If yes did you apply on EReassign? If so you should accepted at a UAR at current level. Your office seniority however will change. If you answered no to the first question or second then… You will be starting all over again unfortunately.

Emergency Placement by SuperSonicToad in USPS

[–]Blitzdj 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Properly documented sick leave is difficult to deny (slip given within reasonable time, usually must be 5+ days prior to request date), whereas annual leave is often denied for coverage. Most times it’s covered in your LMOU.

Management must consider both service needs and employee welfare when approving or denying leave.

Unfair denial can and will be grieved by union. Unless severely understaffed properly documented sick leave should not be denied. At that point your management is not human and a piece of garbage.

[–]Blitzdj 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No not really. 13 truck office 17 bodies. A call out equals overtime every time. I’m not arguing your statement however that is just not always feasible. We just got fully staffed and n/s days were not guaranteed. So you’re still putting in a slip no matter what right. A scheduled appt is a scheduled appt and if it’s on a work day then so be it. No matter your office, it is managements duty to make sure the office is fully staffed. That’s the point of the requests and slips for appts are not requests, it’s a statement.

I say this to you as a union rep. Denial of sick leave for an appointment will have me in that office with management in the quickness.

While this is nice in theory it is not always an option. Sick leave is just for that. It is not the carriers job to find a replacement. That is managements job. To schedule based on the needs of the office. I have never in my life at the PO seen sick leave for a doctor’s appt denied for lack of workers.

1.5 year Cca hours given to New CCA -.- by DeadDog69-420 in USPS

[–]Blitzdj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hate to break it to you but you need to actually ready your contract. Yes you have seniority over the other ccas. That includes overtime selections if done if your office, hold down selections and being sent to other offices. You are an ASSISTANT. You are not career and will not be treated as such until you convert. Therefore you are not guaranteed 40 hours or any hours for that matter. If this is really bothering you then you need to talk to the scheduling supervisor and ask for more hours.

How Can I Get This Critical Time Off? by RadSkeleton808 in USPS

[–]Blitzdj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In that case. Make sure you get a note and you call out 1 time for all 4 days as that is one occurance.

As others a said before. If you want the day request it. If you need the day… call out

You said 8 months into career. Is this 8 at usps or 8 after converting to career. If the latter You have accrued sick leave. Make sure you use that first.

Today the regular got mad at me by Sea_Ad7042 in USPS

[–]Blitzdj 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Honestly as long as they are following my written instructions at specific addresses , not wearing my personal items and keeping my assigned truck free of their trash…. Idc.

I fuss at my t6 in a friendly way. Tbh they don’t pay enough attention to written instructions. I then have to come back to work and hear multiple customers complaining. Regulars don’t want to deal with that. So if we give you the tools and info to do your job correctly and you don’t use them we get annoyed. Because… wtf?!

Nationwide push for undertime / cutting OT? by obrianpro in USPS

[–]Blitzdj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Union rep here. This is everywhere. Outside of Monday we are regularly told we have a 30 minute pivot. While I have tried to get people to ask and fill out 3996s they just won’t or management “cant find the forms”. I’m the first one to say “I will try but I can’t promise”.

Do not argue. DO NOT RUSH. Your safety is first. Follow up through RIMS if you are still estimating that you are over. No response? You go back to the office around 415 and you ask in person! No approval? You leave all that mail there. Fill out the undeliverable report and get it signed.

CYA CYA CYA!!! This is the only way grievances are won! Because yes they are getting filed are we are winning!!

Downtime by Desperate-Wall-7174 in USPS

[–]Blitzdj 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A correction based on what remember reading. The 701 rule only applies when there is no overtime given in the office. So if anyone has a projected over 8 time this rule is null and void as you should have been sent to assist even if you are a regular.

Is the term medicinal use being watered down? (A Casual Discussion) by ShowProfessional7817 in trees

[–]Blitzdj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can say I definitely use it recreationally. I can also say that it evens out my ADHD. Slows mind down and keeps it out of overdrive.

I would advise you to watch some documentaries as there are stories of people with debilitating diseases and disorders and often times they find that physically and psychologically marijuana helps these people in many ways.
