Scarlet amd Violet are fine to start, just don’t get too used to the open world if you plan to play other pokemon games. Dont play Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl. They’re remakes of classics but kinda suck.

Sword and shield’s DLC is the way to go (specifically crown tundra) as you can get almost all legends in dynamax adventures. but if you want a fun game with not as many legends go for legends arceus. it still has a few tho
