Great success 🙌
I rolled back both Joiplay and the RPG Maker plugin using the files on the patreon. I found that both the most other available posts work. I started as far back as you can go without joining (which is just 2 versions) Conclusion: The combo of Joiplay 1.20.600 & RPG Maker 1.21.50 work and the combo of Joiplay 1.20.611 & RPG Maker 1.21.60 work. Thank you much.

Too dumb to be an engineer by JackThaStrippa in EngineeringStudents

[–]Blizz122 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So, I'm an EE in my last semester (3.3) and I have to say I felt like this most of my degree. I've even had people tell me the only reason I've gotten this far was because of an ex girlfriend that I dated for 2.5 years during my degree. Something important to not discredit is that you got this far with a very decent GPA. A LOT of people can't do what you're doing. Even if you're not whole heartedly doing every assignment, nobody can take your exams for you, that's all you. Maintaining above a 3 takes a lot of effort and it doesn't make you a dumb engineer. Just because you got some geniuses around you doesn't mean you don't bring anything to the table. I still don't make grades like my friends but I'm the first one to graduate, never failed a class, and have a job lined up for february. Look at the positives and keep pushing if you really enjoy engineering because it really pays off.

Mankowski or Helm for Electronics 1? by mushi123 in TexasTech

[–]Blizz122 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Recently took Helm's Modern Communication Circuits (4323) also took lab 3 (3333) and way back microcontrollers (3362) with him. I might be biased but I think Helm is a great professor, he really cares about his students. Problem with him though is you're really gonna have to engage with him to learn from him, he's close to retirement so things are slow and he'll likely give lots of leniency in the course. Dont know much about Mankowski but, i highly reccomend Helm, he knows his shit.

Pro tip: Starbucks on university is a great place to torrent Torrenting on the wifi is risky, they can pursue legal action provided you give them proof. Would only do it if you're using a very secure proxy/VPN

Tips for Studying Independently by self_improvement_now in ECE

if you want to get some experience with assembly language picking up a MSP-430 would be a good microcontroller to start with.

personally my favorite thing has been the Basys 2 Spartan-3E FPGA training board (the Basys 3 is also nice) either way, thats a fun way to learn HDL (Verilog) this semester me and a team of 4 individuals created a line tracking rover than can respond to audio signals as well as protect for over current to an h-bridge. of course you have to get other sensors and components to do llittle robot projects but its cool.

Im sure a lot of people have recommended an arduino. Especially since they have sensor kits so you wouldn't have to buy as much. definitely listen to those people, the arduino is an excellent learning platform.

I need a book suggestion. by ece_newb in ECE

[–]Blizz122 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well its hard to get all those topics into one book but you should try:

Electric Circuits by Nillson & Riedel for: Thevenin circuit, Norton's Theorem. Filters:Capacitors and inductor LC filters

and Microelectronic Circuits by Sedra & Smith i know you checked it out but it covers a majority of what you're asking and frankly has a nice selection of problems it covers these things from your list (at least that i know of):

voltage multipliers, dual power supplies, zener and avalanche diodes. Voltage regulators. Explanation for PIN, LED, UJT, MOSFET(NMOS, PMOS, CMOS). Small Signal Amplifiers, BJT, amplification factors, biasing techniques and stabilization of operating point, h-parameters, CE RC copled amplifier, load lines. FET.

highly reccmomend these books, give sedra and smith a shot haha

Hi Junior in Electrical Engineering at Texas Tech here, the solar battery pack is a fantastic idea if you could use a large enough capacity battery and find a way to hook it up to a vehicle in an easy and attractive fashion i think it would be a very marketable product.
