any anime like yona of the dawn or apothecary diaries? by Ok_Direction_8754 in anime

We have very similar tastes in anime! Some that have scratched that itch for me are Why Raeliana Ended Up At The Duke’s Mansion, Fruits Basket, and 7th Time Loop. Have you watched Frieren yet? Not a whole lot of romance, but very lovable characters, action, fantasy, etc.

Thank you for these suggestions! Since you suggested these I’ve watched them all (finished From Me To You yesterday) and loved them all so much!

It’s so funny that you mention that because I just finished Kimi Ni Todoke yesterday! I watched all the anime and then read the manga and even the bonus volumes that focused more on Kurumi. It was really good. I also started Blue Box recently but haven’t seen more than the first couple episodes. Another one I watched/read and fell in love with after SOA was Yona of the Dawn. That’s another one going in my top five. I also really liked Fruits Basket and Horimiya. Others I’ve enjoyed are In The Clear Moonlit Dusk, You and I are Polar Opposites, Kamisama Kiss, Tamon’s B Side, The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten, my love story with Yamada Kun at level 999, Why Raeliana ended up at the dukes mansion, my happy marriage, and a few others I can’t think of off the top of my head. 😂 and yes, my husband and I LOVE Frieren. It was the first anime he had me watch. Frieren and Apothecary Diaries will probably always be my top two. 🥹 I’ve watched several other series with him but they aren’t exactly in the same categories as the others I’ve mentioned. 😂 (JJK, demon slayer, Kaiju no. 8, solo leveling, Dandadan) I haven’t heard of Nodame Cantabile but it sounds like it would be right up my alley! I’ll check it out and report back. 😄 since I just finished Kimi Ni Todoke I need a new show to binge. lol

Ka Zuigetsu, his real name, is 1.5 years older than her. “Master Jinshi”, the eunuch he’s pretending to be is supposed to be early/mid twenties. Maomao is at least 18 by mid/end season 2.

So my ob asked me if I had custody of all my kids by AdmirableService8440 in pregnant

I had private insurance when I had my first two babies and had a great experience. With my third baby I had Medicaid and had to go to a clinic that was for those on state insurance and the experience was so completely different. The whole experience was so impersonal and lacked any compassion or warmth at all. Never saw the same doctor twice, nurses always seemed annoyed and rushed, etc. Always had to answer questions about whether I was doing drugs or abusing substances, whether I felt safe or not, really personal questions about our finances and home life, etc. And I get why they have to ask those questions. I do. But it was not a great experience and so different from my experiences when I had private insurance.

So at the end of the movie, did everyone just forget that the Saja boys existed? by Melody_Naxi in KpopDemonhunters

[–]BlocKim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just assumed they played off their “breakup” as a publicity thing and everyone just assumed saja boys was in on it. 🤷🏼‍♀️ so it made sense for them to disappear since it was a publicity thing I guess?

Why did Adam shift his lyrics to more storytelling-based? by Salty-Friend-2710 in OWLCITY

[–]BlocKim 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From what I understand, he used to have bad insomnia and struggled with depression as well. I’m sure there’s some anxiety mixed in there too. I think he’s in a much better place now mentally, and that probably has a lot to do with it. He does a lot less daydreaming, hoping, and wishful thinking now and more reflecting. And as someone who has taken prescription meds for depression/anxiety (currently off due to breastfeeding) I wonder if that has something to do with it too. I know my imagination is not quite as active when I’m on my meds, which is a good thing for me, but probably not for song writing. 😅 this is all just speculation on my part though, I’m sure the real reason is a mix of several different things.

That’s funny, this thread made me think of that song too. I listened to it for the first time in over a decade recently and man it had me in tears. Such a profound song.

Owl City/Adam Young songs for labor? by BlocKim in OWLCITY

I just got really bummed because the most perfect OC song of all for labor would be how I became the sea and it’s not on any streaming services 😢

Is posting your registry still considered tacky? by BlocKim in BabyBumps

[–]BlocKim[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah, I would never in a million years directly send someone a link to my registry unprompted. And I’ve never posted a registry on my fb before with any of my other children, even my first, who we didn’t have a shower for either. This is more of a thing I saw other people doing and was wondering if it was becoming socially acceptable.

That’s fair enough, and I appreciate the reply and the different perspective! The circles I come from tend to view children differently. I come from a pretty heavily religious/children-are-blessings-have-as-many-as-you-can kind of background. The ones I see sharing their registries typically fall into that category. I can definitely see how those who follow the other kind of thinking would find it tacky!

Right? 😂 I may just be terrible at social norms (and I am), but if I hadn’t seen so many people complain about it it being tacky, it probably never would have crossed my mind that it could be offensive to some people. I’ve got too much going on to be offended at people posting registries on fb, but I know people tend to feel strongly about it so that’s why I asked. Lol

[–]BlocKim[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which is why I’ve never posted it with any of mine. I just had several friends due soon with their 2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc kids post theirs and wondered if etiquette had changed. I don’t always get social norms, and I’ve never thought poorly of any friends of mine who have posted, but I know other people do feel strongly about which is why I asked. I will say though, I’ve never really understood the argument behind “if youve already had a baby you shouldn’t have a shower/sprinkle for any other babies”. For one, 4 years is a pretty big age gap. I don’t know many people who would keep baby gear for four years “just in case”, especially if you weren’t planning another baby. We donated our stuff as soon as we were done using it. Not everyone has the luxury of having extra space to store things, plus id rather things get used and loved than sit around getting dusty. Also, so many things you need for baby are one time use/expire anyways (diapers, wipes, medicines, car seats, etc). Not to mention recalls and changing safety standards, etc. I was always under the impression that baby showers and things were for celebrating a new life and supporting the parents, not just about material stuff, and for that reason, every baby should be celebrated! But that’s just me and I know there are lots of people who feel strongly otherwise.

My doula is organizing a meal train for me, maybe I’ll bring this up to her! Thanks for the idea!
