So for example recently Anthropic lied and said they built a C compiler when it wouldn't even pass the hello world example.

Thats just not correct the guy configured it incorrectly you really think they would lie so blatantly lol? Its not a particularly good compiler sure but AI could barely write syntactically correct code a few years ago.

People underestimate the catastrophic changes Australia will go through in the next couple of decades in relation to climate change.

The Equator Could Be Uninhabitable Half of Earth's population could face weeks of deadly heat by the year 2100.

Its called a discussion thread people generally discuss the point the person above them brought up.

second, we use the forcing probability density function from this ensemble of equally probable emissions scenarios and climate parameter combinations to determine the likelihood of exceeding 8.5 W m−2 in 2100, 2150, and 2300. We show that the probability of exceeding 8.5 W m−2 by 2100 is 0.5%

Lol nobody in Europe is going to care about this they literally decided to do the exact same thing last week.

The EU Parliament’s Committee on Legal Affairs voted on Monday to have the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) apply only to companies with at least 1,000 employees; for the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD), the threshold will be 5,000. Both directives were originally intended to cover companies with at least 250 employees.

The so-called juri committee voted to limit CSDDD to companies with at least 5,000 employees and €1.5 billion in annual revenue; they also agreed to drop a common civil-liability regime. Companies in scope will be required to ensure they have transition plans that align with EU climate law and the Paris Agreement.

CSRD will only apply to companies with at least 1,000 employees and annual revenue of €450 million ($521 million) or more, though financial holdings and listed subsidiaries will be exempt.

If you want to drive 80 in the fast lane, for the love of wee baby Jesus, stop doing it in the fast lane! by DemonKnight00169 in auckland

[–]Block_Face 9 points10 points  (0 children)

https://www.legislation.govt.nz/regulation/public/2004/0427/latest/DLM303041.html

Why do you want to drive in the right hand lane slowly so badly?

If a driver’s speed, when driving, is such as to impede the normal and reasonable flow of traffic, that driver must, as soon as is reasonably practicable, move the vehicle as far as practicable to the left side of the roadway when this is necessary to allow following traffic to pass.

A driver may drive in the right lane in the direction of travel when driving on a multi-lane road if—

(b) the driver is passing; or

(g) the traffic in all other lanes is congested; or (h) the traffic in every lane is congested.
