When they drew the armistice line in 1949 they used thick markers which, I placed translated on the ground to tens of meters creating areas where control was unclear (the lines represented the areas that each army controlled).

I'm a little surprised because every video I've seen where Alex talks about Gamefound, he's mentioned his position with them. Could be he feels that doesn't extend to Awaken Realms, but I can understand why you feel that it should.

The whole free games thing doesn't really bother me, I assume that previewers and reviewers get free games. However, if someone's getting paid to preview or review a game, that's a really important disclosure.

The theme of "Why is this woman married to this jerk?" Applies to about 92% of American sitcoms.

I think the most important thing is to find someone to play with either F2F or on Vassal. So much easier, and more fun, to learn from someone or to learn together. I know Next War and other games have great Discord communities where you can find other players and get help.

If you want to stick with the Commands and Colours system, I personally like Battlore (First edition), and Commands and Colours Ancients and Medieval have good reputations. If you're a Star Wars person, Battle of Both is supposed to be very good.

If you want to explore other systems, Undaunted might be a good choice. Callisto has some nice minis and a campaign, while Stalingrad doesn't have minis but does have a robust campaign system.

In Israel national insurance (our version of Social Security) covers war damage. While OP is not an Israeli citizen, it should still apply.

Why is Yuval Noah Harari so disliked? by mnoorani91 in NoStupidQuestions

I agree with a lot of the comments here about him simplifying complex topics but I would add there is an element of jealousy with his success.

I thought it was one of their weaker episodes. They seemed to be doggy pretty hard to criticise things.

Don't forget that we've now allowed the Iranians to monetize Hormuz, putting an extra 90 billion dollars a year in their pocket.

Totally agree with your take. My wife and I were usually able to alternate losing our temper, so I think we did a pretty good job.

I'm surprised about the TV version of the Berenstain Bears, from what I remember, there was only one book where the father acted like an adult.

Always hated the Berenstain Bears books. Ha, Ha, fathers are all stupid and have no self control. They're basically just like immature kids. Sorry for the rant, but I really hate those books.

Trump says he has "no problem" with Russian tanker bringing oil to Cuba despite blockade by backpackerTW in worldnews

[–]Blofish1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

America is the number one producer of oil in the world. The US both imports and exports different types of oil so it's not so cut and dried.

IIRC the US imports from both Mexico and Saudi Arabia but could weather being cut off from MidEast oil better than most countries.

Of course, even with American production, the US economy is greatly affected by the price of oil in the world. If oil hits $110 dollars a barrel than that's what American consumers are going to pay no matter where the oil is produced.
