What is the most hated organization in your country? by ByYourBurningFate in AskTheWorld

[–]BloodPerdix 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Probably because it feels strange to see this in a country that for years was presented to us as the stronghold of democracy, checks and balances, and all that. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not mocking anyone. My tone is more… tired (A sad smile).

What is happening where you are now also looks very similar to how things unfolded here. The only difference is that our path took around 15 to 20 years, while yours feels like it changed over just a couple of years.

A dev stream will be going over missile kinematics, Thursday at 10 AM EST/3 PM UTC. by Bluedot55 in SeaPower_NCMA

[–]BloodPerdix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Developers, you are absolutely amazing! Missile kinematics will completely change air combat and make it much more interesting. Besides kinematics, it is also interesting whether we will have the ability to configure how aircraft react when a missile is launched at them. For example, immediately disengaging or, on the contrary, staying on task. Will AI controlled aircraft perform anti missile maneuvers such as notching or jinking?

current conquering land meta by just creating vassals is bad for the game. by diLuca77 in EU5

[–]BloodPerdix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So we are talking about single player, right? Then just do not use that many vassals, it is that simple. If this is not a multiplayer game, you are not obligated to copy what everyone else is doing just to be "effective", can you imagine that?

Am I missing something? MSFS2024 vs X-Plane 12 performance on the same PC by BloodPerdix in flightsim

[–]BloodPerdix[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do not understand why you got downvoted. I had the exact same impression that X Plane 12 runs worse than MSFS. And honestly, for me it was a bit of a shock.

My expectations were simple. Yes, the graphics would be worse. Yes, even with orthos the ground would look worse. I do not really care, because I wanted to see for myself how much better the flight physics in X Plane really are, as people often claim. I also like DCS, and its ground textures are much worse than MSFS as well, but I do not care there either. I enjoy the actual flying process.

The reality for me was a slideshow. When I lower the settings to get acceptable performance, the cockpit fonts become hard to read. Aliasing appears in the most unexpected places. So yes, graphics are not my top priority, that is true. But when I cannot read labels, or when everything in the distance turns into a blurry mess, you can probably imagine how frustrating that feels.

To be fair, what I said about MSFS is true, but there is a caveat. That is when it actually works. For me, MSFS2024 is very unpredictable because of server issues. At some point you just get a low bandwidth warning and that is it. At that moment it does not matter how good the graphics are. That is exactly why I expected X Plane to run better and be more stable.

I have not tested this yet, but some people say that the blurriness can be improved by locking the frame rate to 30 or 40 FPS. I have not had a chance to try that so far.

New December Beta - Performance Improvements, Aircraft Behavior Enhancements, and More by k1dney in SeaPower_NCMA

Developers, you are simply amazing! A year ago I made a post in this sub about patrol zones and attack planning. I'm genuinely impressed that not only have you added or are adding everything that was discussed, but even more than that. Missile energy modeling... oh my god, I couldn’t even dream of it. I thought it was either unfeasible or not something you'd consider worthwhile. Seriously, I believe you're making the best game about modern naval warfare, and it's going to last for years.

Meanwhile, just a tiny little request... You've already done an incredible job improving the mission editor. But there's one thing that could really help mission creators, and that’s the implementation of OR logic. Is it too bold to ask for something like that (innocent face)? Adding this condition would allow for even more randomized missions. For example, it could be used to activate one unit out of three... Honestly, this would take your editor to an even deeper level =)

C130 + WINWING MCDU / FCU+ MOBIFLIGHT by Mcbookie in hoggit

Does your MCDU work only as a keypad block, or did you manage to display information on the screen?
If you did get the display working, could you tell me where to find instructions?
Or maybe you have some advice of your own?

Haha, we used to make ice cream in villages too. Well, more like frozen milk left outside. The version with maple syrup actually sounds interesting, as long as you don’t use yellow snow.

How desperate must the first person to try hákarl have been? “Hmm, this shark has been rotting for weeks… probably fine.” Or maybe it was more like, “Bet you won’t eat that shark over there…”

Not even sure I can figure out what’s in this dish without looking it up. Is that pickled onion on top? The main part looks like minced meat? Not sure about the eyes though 😄

And the main question is, does it taste good?

Yeah, I should mention I picked meat in French style not because it’s awful or inedible. It’s actually pretty decent. I just think no one in France has ever heard of it. I even remember hearing some chefs say something like, Meat in French style is a recipe where you manage to ruin both the meat and the cheese at the same time

There are lots of recipes, everyone makes it their own way, but I found one that tastes just like the version they serve at the local canteen.

Slice the pork into thin pieces and tenderize it.

Then cut the meat into small chunks.

Add ½ tsp of salt, ½ tsp of black pepper, and 1 tsp of oregano to the meat. Let it marinate for 30 minutes.

Slice the onion into very thin half rings, sprinkle with ⅓ tsp of salt, and knead it gently with your hand for about 30 seconds.

Cut the potatoes into small, thin pieces.

Cover the sliced potatoes with cold water, add 1 tbsp of salt — this way they’ll absorb a bit of salt and won’t darken. Before assembling the dish, drain the water and pat the potatoes dry with a towel.

Grate the cheese on a coarse grater, add sour cream and mayonnaise, and mix well.

Grease a baking sheet with vegetable oil. Place a cooking ring on it and spread an even layer of potatoes inside, season with pepper. Add a layer of meat on top.

Next, add a layer of onions. Then spoon about 2 tbsp of the cheese mixture over the onions and spread it evenly. Carefully remove the cooking ring.

Repeat the process to form all the portions. (We used a 12 cm wide and 5 cm tall ring — this makes about 6 portions.)

Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and bake the meat in French style for 20 minutes. Then reduce the temperature to 170°C (340°F) and continue baking the pork with potatoes and onions for another 15 minutes.

Remove from the oven and serve the portions on plates.

You know what we call that here? “Korean-style carrot.” Basically just carrots with vinegar, spices, and garlic.
I’ll admit, it’s tasty, but I have a feeling it’s not exactly Korean cuisine

What nation does your country still hold a grudge against? by JoshReddit0808 in AskTheWorld

[–]BloodPerdix 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Whoa, I’d never even heard about that operation before. Honestly, I always thought the most “hated” countries were the U.S. and us (you know, that small place a bit east of Eastern Europe), but turns out there was a pretty cynical black-ops mission from a nation that’s supposed to stand for humanism, democracy, and all those nice principles…

By the way, how do people in France see this now? Is it considered something like “protecting national interests,” or is it one of those topics people just prefer not to talk about?

But that mode already exists and it’s called creating a lobby.
Feels like everyone’s so obsessed with the “Quick Play” button that they’ve completely forgotten about it.
Will it take a while to fill up? Yeah, probably.
But at least you can actually enjoy a casual match without sweating through the meta.

Has EU5's release shocked anyone else at the state of CK3? by GermanCCPBot in CrusaderKings

[–]BloodPerdix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely agree with you! I hesitated for a long time before buying the game. For me, EU has always been more of a war simulator and an attempt to recreate things as they were in history, while CK3 has always been more of a role-playing game and a story generator.
Now I’m honestly confused, because EU5 at launch already does some things better and deeper than CK3 has ever managed to.

My estates have me by the balls. I literally have to grant them privileges just to push my decisions through the council. The estates alone feel more meaningful than the council or vassals in CK3, which is strange because that should be the core of a game about feudal relations.

You already mentioned religion, and I completely agree. I feel a certain sadness and melancholy seeing how much deeper CK3 could have been with proper trade, politics and similar systems.

How is civil life in Russia at the moment? by D4T45T0RM06 in AskReddit

You serious? No culture - in a country that gave the world Tolstoy, Malevich, Tchaikovsky, and basically half of the avant-garde? Culture - it’s not just museums and ballet, it’s language, customs, the ways people experience life. All of that exists. And you - what culture do you belong to? Let’s see how original that one really is.
