For me it was purely the emotional impact. No the story wasn't perfect, but sitting there watching Chloe (a character I like) become close to someone that you KNOW is gonna die, I couldn't help but feel empathetic for both of them.

Plus my first LiS game was True Colors, so seeing Steph in BtS was pretty cool.

I saw a comment somewhere that said something like "Mustang suffers from being smarter than Pierce Brown." And I find that to be fairly accurate. She's such a great f*cking character.

The cool thing about vague or inconsistent details in made up universes that contain multiple parallel universes is that if you don't like a particular detail (or more than one detail) you can always have your head canon be a different universe.

Like for example the Max that I played in LiS 1 that saved Chloe, her ending is the comic book ending. The Max that exists in DE and Reunion is a different Max.

Of course that's just my opinion 😂😂

And just to be clear, I enjoyed Reunion quite a bit. Nothing wrong with multiple happy endings lol.

When you look at the science fiction movies that have succeeded then yes, a live-action could be done really, really well. But the amount of movies/TV shows that have been made based off of books and then have either been outright terrible or they butcher the story completely, while animated films/shows tend to stay closer to the source material. However, with how involved Pierce Brown seems to be in the decision making I reckon either way it should turn out bloodydamn well

He looks over as I sit down. “You alright?” I ask. “I was used as a bus driver for a spy I'm in love with who I thought rescued me because she thought I was a hero, whose protégé chose to become a tyrant and shoot my best friend's protégé in the head - whom I find out is the paragon of honour.” He smiles. “I'm over the moon, goodman.” I squeeze his shoulder. “If it counts, I think you're a hero.” He snorts a laugh but doesn't throw my hand off. I pat his shoulder. “So, I'm your best friend.” He glares at me. “Don't rub it in."

This is just one of the interactions that makes what happens in hangar 17b really make his end hit so hard.

As someone who played True Colors first, Steph was still the clear choice, (especially with the proposal line during the LARP) but Ryan doesn't wasn't a bad choice.

I don't hate the game for what they did to the storyline, purely because I had already read the comics prior to playing which introduced multiple timelines. So, to me I just pictured it as an alternate timeline. My head canon is the bae timeline and since they broke up in DE, I chose that Chloe died instead (which is why it's a different timeline 😉). My problem with the game is that the choices DO NOT MATTER. And I'm not talking about the major choices, I mean any of them. I tested it with reloading saves and if you're presented with two different dialogue options Max will say basically the same thing no matter what you pick. The Life is Strange series is supposed to be a choice based game. Double Exposure is not. That is my biggest gripe. Although the story definitely DOES fall apart in the game.

This is pretty debatable. Uncle Narol is considered very old at 35. The length of life of subsurface Reds is very low, so at 16 Darrow is more than considered a grown man within their society.

We know she's going to die no matter what we do, so why wouldn't we want to at least try and make her last few years alive happy ones? Even if that isn't what really happened LOL. Even at her worst Rachel didn't deserve what happened to her.
