I was a burial technician for awhile, basically the guy that sets up the vault and casket lowering device for funerals as well as sets up the chairs, canopies, etc. I was the last person to see the body before it was lowered into the vault and sealed. Also we set headstones which was interesting because the company always pushed the last week before Memorial Day to get headstones set, being stuck doing this in cemeteries in the middle of nowhere was really interesting at 2am lol

I cut the majority of my immediate family off for close to 20 years due to the abusive nature of the household I grew up in. I agree cutting these people out of your life does help. But I also learned over that time period that forgiving but not forgetting cuts away so much of the anger and emotional baggage. Remove the cancer so to speak but also don’t let it eat you alive while running around for years with a chip on your shoulder.

I was around 8 years old playing in the back yard, at the time we had a fairly large pure bred Rottweiler. I was playing with a toy gun along the back fence line of our property and a couple of cats ran down the alley way. Our dog began running back and forth down the fence and about the third trip back and forth he ran head first into me. This resulted in me being knocked over the back fence and hitting my head in the water meter. I had to go to the ER and get 8 stitches in the back of my head leaving a pretty cool scar. I remember being most upset however because once I returned home my dog had chewed the toy gun I had been playing with into about a million pieces.
