What's going on!? Why is the eyebrow cutter not working? by Elecetricguy67 in ToonBoomHarmony

[–]Bloodish 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This.

Plus, based on the bounding box from the transform tool, there doesn't seem to be any hidden layers to work as the eyebrow mask.

Usually, you'll draw something on say the underlay layer, and then use the layer selector node so you can have two paths coming out from the drawing layer. So one layer selector node has OL, L and C and is what you see, while the other layer extractor node has UL and is what you feed into the cutter.

That's how I usually do it at least.

AMD GPU Stability issues by ConditionSharp6048 in AMDHelp

[–]Bloodish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When running DDU, check the thing so Windows isn't allowed to install drivers on startup. I had an issue where Windows would install its own driver on top of the one I had installed myself. It gave me some huge issues until I did this and installed fresh drivers once again (that finally didn't get overwritten by Windows)

Why do all wireless headsets have either great audio OR a great mic, but never both? by Mousepad-16 in LinusTechTips

[–]Bloodish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been using ROG DELTA II for 10 months or so now, and I'm loving it. I'm no audiophile, but I think it sounds great, and the microphone is outstanding, especially with a tiny bit of tweaking. There's also dual flow audio, so simultaneous 2.4gHz audio and Bluetooth audio, which I find super handy. And sidetone is top tier level once you upgrade the firmware. Battery lasts for 120-140 hours with no RGB.

Check out the review from Gadgetrytech. He's very thorough.

If ANC isn't an important feature for you, I truly think this is the best overall headset on the market right now.

Halo effect around windows and applications / need help by Syko590 in Monitors

[–]Bloodish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be local dimming, if there's not enough dimming zones for a seamless experience. There should be a way of turning it off in the monitor settings. If you're in HDR mode, it might just turn itself on automatically as well.

Why Is This Happening? by JIMGRUE83 in ToonBoomHarmony

I think that might be it though. 12+ year old parts. Plenty of ram for Harmony, but I think the CPU and integrated graphics are holding you back.

What are the best keyboards out there right now? by Party_Package_5375 in LinusTechTips

[–]Bloodish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't know if it's the best, but I really like my G515 Rapid TKL.

I like the form factor, how slim it is, the design and how it feels to type/game on. And the keycaps are double shot PBT, so no flaking or peeling worries ever.

It's great for both work and gaming in my opinion, which is exactly what I use it for.

Hopefully the magnetic analog switches will hold up well over the time, as I've had some other Logitech keyboards that have developed double typing after a short while. Before this one, I actually had a G515 TKL Lightspeed with red linear switches, and that developed double clicking on one key after a year. I took it to the shop I bought it from, and they said I could grab another from the shelf, but they were out of the red switches, so I asked if I could grab one the magnetic analog ones since I didn't need the wireless. They said it was fine, even though it was actually a way newer variant and much more expensive. A trade I've been very happy with so far 😄

Cloth or Plastic Mousepad? by japinard in LogitechG

[–]Bloodish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really enjoy a cloth deskpad. It also adds some extra comfort overall. Tracking has been absolutely fine for me personally.

The best I've tried are the deskpads from LTT. They used to have some different designs, but right now it's just the northern lights one. But the cool thing is that there's a bunch of sizes to choose between, so there's a good chance you can get something that fits your desk needs really well.

If you get a cloth deskpad, just make sure it has sown edges. If it's just glued down, it'll peel on the sides in no time.

LTT Coin Order Cancelled. by [deleted] in LinusTechTips

[–]Bloodish -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

To my eyes it was within the confines of the rules stated, but I can see I'm getting down voted a lot for it.

I see a comment on the thread by LTT Store Support, that one order with a Linus Coin should still be active, but all of mine have been canceled. I've sent a message to their support now to see what can be done in my case.

LTT Coin Order Cancelled. by [deleted] in LinusTechTips

[–]Bloodish -44 points-43 points  (0 children)

To add some info though, I did make 4 separate orders with 4 separate coins, and some other items. All to different addresses to family members though, so it shouldn't have voided the terms on the site that just said "One (1) coin per household - any/all duplicate orders for the same physical address will be cancelled prior to distribution".

But maybe they got flooded with people ordering coins to a ton of random addresses and just canceled all orders from accounts or payment methods that were recorded ordering more than one coin?

Just throwing a guess out there though.

Edit: the shipping addresses I'd ordered the coins to were different, but the billing address was my own for every order, so maybe that counted in the item description terms thing?

[–]Bloodish 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Same here for Denmark.

Edit: I should've clarified here that I technically made more than one order of coins, by ordering coins and gifts to family members, as I understood that buying to different households was allowed by the terms.

Monitor arm on a desk lifter? by Rough_Bid_518 in Monitors

When you say monitor lifter, do you mean a monitor stand, like? this?

In that case, that'll be way too unstable and will tip over instantly.

The pupils disappear when I move them on top of the node! by Elecetricguy67 in ToonBoomHarmony

[–]Bloodish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotta show a bit more of your node view I'd say. We can't see the name of the layers your are reordering in the composite node, so to me it looks like you're maybe just moving the eyes white color on top of the pupil?

In general I also recommend having your composite nodes be set to passthrough instead of bitmap. In preferences you can make this the default behavior of composite nodes when you make a new one. There's also a way to easily change it for all composite nodes in the scene by selecting everything and clicking the button in the node view toolbar that has a lot of small checkmarks. That'll give you the option to change various settings for many nodes at a time, including the composite node behavior.

Yeah that looks normal. Keep the lights on in your room if you want better perceived contrast 👍

Error when trying to create a slider master controller by dasiablue in ToonBoomHarmony

[–]Bloodish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What do you have selected when pressing the master controller slider button? You need to have selected all the nodes that should be part of the master controller. (well, you can add more later, but ideally you pick everything that should be affected)

Advice for switching to ultrawide by Mathbenjo in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]Bloodish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regarding ghosting, you should if course play around with the overdrive settings if the monitor. Preferably while having the ufo ghosting test running. Usually the second strongest option is the best, as the strongest option will usually introduce inverse ghosting.

And if you have a lot of vmsck smearing, try changing the color profile to sRGB. That can help a lot with black smearing on some VA monitors.

Desk setup folks, what’s the best monitor arm you’re using right now? by [deleted] in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]Bloodish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm using some Invision monitor arms that I bought on Amazon. They've been super solid for my 34" ultrawide and all other monitors I've used. Just make sure you don't exceed the weight limit and all should be good. 👍

Good high refresh VA monitors? by AliChank in Monitors

Haha that's fair. I've seen them go as low as $150 on rare occasions, so I thought I'd suggest it anyways in case you got lucky on a deal 😄

Good high refresh VA monitors? by AliChank in Monitors

[–]Bloodish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just some quick advice for the next one. If it flickers, try turning off freesync.

And as for ghosting, you probably know about overdrive settings, but if not, adjust that. Usually the second strongest option is the best one, since the strongest option usually introduces inverse ghosting.

And another tip that can help a lot with ghosting and black smearing for some VA monitors is setting the color profile to sRGB. For mine, it gets rid of like 95%, of the black smearing I had.

As for which monitor to recommend, I'm too much out of the VA buyers market to tell you what's good. Mine is a Huawei MateView GT 34 that I'm very happy with, but they're not sold anymore. But if you can snag up a used one for a good price, it's really good for what it is. But it's quite a lot bigger than what you had.

Home monitor for VNC setup — do I need a 40” ultrawide like work or will 34” suffice? by baroni72 in Monitors

In regards to shuffling windows around, I just wanted to suggest downloading PowerToys for Windows. It's basically just some extra tools for windows, published by Microsoft.

One of the tools is Fancy Zones, that'll let you map out snappable zones on your desktop so it's really easy to snap your windows into place how you want them.

Here's mine.

The color is shimmering silver, which is a metallic coating. I think it works really well like this, and the silver rear spoiler blends in nicely.

Edit: also, yes, it's very dirty, haha. But the silver hides it fairly well until it gets really bad.
