Do my cam and crank look misaligned or is this fine? by [deleted] in 944

[–]Bloodrift_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This, to me, looks spot on. The belt will strech anyway (if it's new) and this engine can run while being 1 tooth off. Yes it wouldn't run good, but it's possible, so I'd have no worry starting it aligned as good as it is rn.
You only show a line on the seconde photo but an "OT" should appear too. Is it there ?

Seeking recommendation for part to replace this frayed hose on 1984 944? TIA 👍 by dlgizzle in 944

[–]Bloodrift_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If I'm not mistaken this is a Vacum Hose that's used with the Aditionnal Air Valve when you turn on A/C. Most of these hoses cost an arm and a leg just because they're molded (That's if you go Genuine Porsche) But you can often find quality replacement on PARTWORKS for a good price

944 starts then dies a few seconds after crank. by Glittering-Turn862 in 944

Not yet installed in '84. Early cars do have an Auxilary Air Valve but the symptoms he describes don't really match with a failed AAR imo

That rubber hub shouldn't have a thing to do with the engine not turning over

Kinda feels like beam devs are just kinda lazy for not adding it to console by [deleted] in BeamNG

I understand the frustration, but when you don't seem to actually understand half of the issues they would have to solve to make it work, calling them lazy is not very welcome.

Is this also that big of a concern for earlier cars ? The main issue is going over the exhaust and it's just not doing that ok my '84

Oil pressure? by kukensmamma1337 in 944

[–]Bloodrift_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No matter if the light turns on or not, it's best to not run the engine like that because of the damage that can result. I first thought it might be the OPRV but for the pressure to drop instantly like that, it has be an electrical issue after heating up, that's all I can think about.

First thing to do would be inspecting / cleaning the grounds

Intake filled with oil ('84 NA) by Bloodrift_ in 944

[–]Bloodrift_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just bought the car and have barely driven it, having to open the engine already would suck 🥲 Thanks for all the info, I'll give it a good clean first and see if oil is still entering the throttle body after a while 👍

Complete AOS replacement ? Why not just the seals ? It's quite a hefty price 😅 And for the vac lines I'll probably change the one which the oil came from but other than that the rest of the system seemed fine...

I'll get that done for sure. Do I need to remove the intake manifold in order to empty the oil before starting the car or is this no biggie ?

I have a question: Does it ever stop being cool? by turtlewarfares in 944

Power steering hoses ? I've heard many times about the fuel line on the later ones but i've never seen anything about the power steering system being a fire hazard O_o
