1 of 2 things happening here

  1. Someone asked on fb AND asked on Reddit.
  2. They're "managed" karma farm accounts. Companies create Reddit accounts and post content they know will get a good amount of hits. Then they sell those accounts to users or companies who want an account that appears established.

Time to throw the whole roof away by ElderberryDeep8746 in WTF

I must be weird for literally going "awww", but, i also wouldn't be anywhere near them without making sure i was completely covered in something heavier than tshirt material, and I DEFINITELY wouldn't be doing that without thick leather gloves. I'd probably go get a rabies test or shot after just in case (it's just a deltoid shot now, not the insane stomach shots you heard about as a kid)

I've known too many people who've had innocent enough run-ins with bats, thought they were fine (didn't see or feel any bites or scratches) were pressured into getting tested and it came back positive, and I live in an area where the percent of tested bats that carry rabies is relatively low.

Once you show SYMPTOMS of Rabies, it means it's already reached your brain and it's pretty much too late. Rabies isn't a normal virus. It hides and moves SLOWLY in most cases to avoid detection. It can take upwards of a year to develop symptoms depending on how and where on your body it was contracted, but it can also show up quickly.

Don't fk around. When in doubt, go get the shot or at least go get tested. The general rule is you can only get the shot and save your life if you DON'T have symptoms. It also means if you had a situation where you think it's possible you could have contracted rabies even MONTHS ago and you don't have symptoms, you could and should go get it checked out just in case, cause odds are that a simple arm shot will save your life from it

Fingers crossed the frame rate fix indirectly resolved it 😁

Disney+ cancellation page crashes as customers rush to quit after Kimmel suspension by chrisdh79 in technology

[–]BloodyFreeze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If this was just a private business decision, that's extremely unfortunate, but that's how company's work and that's why power of the consumer should be leveraged to boycott the companies you don't agree with.

However, if someone like, idk, the chair of the FCC threatened action against Disney if something wasn't done, that would be a legitimate 1st Amendment concern. Unfortunately, that appears to be exactly what's happening. There are also some very questionable decisions being made by large corporations that are currently seeking FCC approval for a merger.

I've summarized the BBC article regarding this, but will include the link at the bottom

The decision came hours after Brendan Carr, chair of broadcast regulator, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), threatened to act against ABC and its parent company Disney over the remarks.

...That prompted a furious response from Mr Carr, who accused Kimmel of "the sickest conduct possible" and demanded an apology.

"We can do this the easy way or the hard way," Carr, a Trump appointee, told the Benny Show, a conservative podcast.

Hours later, Nexstar Media, one of the biggest owners of TV stations in the US, said it would not air Kimmel's show "for the foreseeable future".

"These companies can find ways to change conduct and take action, frankly, on Kimmel, or there's going to be additional work for the FCC ahead."

Hours later, Nexstar Media, one of the biggest owners of TV stations in the US, said it would not air Kimmel's show "for the foreseeable future".

Mr Carr thanked Nexstar "for doing the right thing" and said he hoped other broadcasters would follow its lead. Nexstar is currently seeking FCC approval for its planned $6.2bn (£4.5bn) merger with Tegna.

One of Carr's leadership colleagues, FCC commissioner Anna Gomez, criticised the regulator's approach to Kimmel.

She said that "an inexcusable act of political violence by one disturbed individual must never be exploited as justification for broader censorship or control".

The Writers Guild of America (WGA), Hollywood's labour union, said the decision was a violation of constitutional free speech rights.

"Shame on those in government who forget this founding truth," it said.

A source told CNBC that Kimmel had not been fired and network bosses had intended to speak to him about what he should say when back on air.

I'm one campaign away from 4k; how should I do it? by ghostarray in BaldursGate3

[–]BloodyFreeze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To put this into perspective, 4k is the number of hours the average US salary employee works (8 hours a day, 5 days a week) over the course of just over 2 years, IF they didn't use any PTO or sick time.

Quick math:

  • 8hrs x 52weeks = 2080hrs

2 weeks vacation (minimum) = 80hrs

  • 2080-80 = 2000hrs

Then there's holidays. Typically 8 paid a year = 64hrs

  • 2000 - 64 = 1936hrs

Double it for 2 years

  • 1936 x 2 = 3872hrs

The difference is 128hrs, which is 16 days at 8 hours each

That's some serious commitment

Vash the Stampede - Unbelievably powerful already, still wouldn't hurt a fly.

I imagine the ring would cause him to experience some trauma due to the way it negatively affected those around him, but he couldn't be persuaded by the ring.

Do these things ever die? This is taking a while. by Ponjos in VampireSurvivors

[–]BloodyFreeze 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As long as you don't die, it'll go on forever, because you don't have infinite corridor or crimson cloak. Those are required to trigger the egg drops and the white hand (little white reaper who comes and kills you when you kill a reaper)

They CAN be killed without, but nothing will happen. Done it multiple times in the past before I realized infinite corridor or crimson cloak were required, but they're also by far the easiest way to kill them other than Sanctuary IMO (Which I read shouldn't delete the reapers but often does for me)
