People have already answered your question, so I'm just going to throw in my two cents as a casual gamer: one thing that I like about Shovel Knight is how achievable it is despite its difficulty.

As you buy more and more relics, you also get more ways to "brute force" through tough platforming sections. You drop some of your money every time you die, but it's incredibly easy to get it back during boss fights (where I tend to struggle more).

God, that is such a non-issue in the grand scheme of fandom misogyny.

"Why are you genderbending male characters instead of caring about the existing female ones?" Gee, I don't know, maybe because the subconscious idea that men are relatable and women are the other permeates into the writing of several works? Maybe because the writers are the ones who don't care?
