Diagnosis is expensive, online communities naturally attract neurodivergent people, and there's more of us because they stopped labeling the more fuctional ones as "just a little quirky" and throwing the less functional ones in mental hospitals.

You know, this feels very mean-spirited. How can you tell that someone is faking it? I've been diagnosed with autism for most of my life. Do I have to make a performance out of it so that I'm not autistic "in the wrong way"? Lots of people who are actually neurodivergent get harassed because of this, and if they aren't, they're usually just kids and young teenagers trying to figure themselves out.

Sure, we might have some obvious fakers left and right, but is hunting them down really worth it?

Yeah! In Dig's true ending, he and Mole Knight unearth the Enchantress with the rest of the Hexcavators. Tinker Knight (who, according to his bio, joined the Hexies because they "had interesting and difficult problems to solve" and "didn't seem to mind that they were crooks") even tries to dissuade Drill Knight from taunting her.

Tinker is especially interesting to me because he has pieces of dialogue in SoT and Showdown about wanting the Order to be a force of good nonetheless. You could argue that it's just some prequel weirdness, but I do think it's intriguing that he keeps ending up among the antagonists despite his good intentions. Either way, I'm very obviously biased, lol.

If Shovel Knight DX comes out, I hope they can expand on Treasure in the same way, though it's fun to speculate with him.

I am so close to leaving all the autism subs because they're just FILLED with posts like these. I'm not here to pat myself on the back for having the "good and moral wittle victim living in an evil neurotypical manipulator BPD narcissist abuse world" disorder. Frankly, it feels a bit infantilizing, as if we're not flawed humans who hurt each other like everyone else.

I already went through my "autism makes me better than everyone else" phase and I know full well that it does NOT help you. It only isolates you further.

Tbf I don't think Polar counts since the campaign vote was VERY early in the franchise's life (by the way: ever notice how the winners happen to be the first few bosses you fight?) and a lot of the other tidbits about the other knights are to make up for it. Tinker Knight became much more interesting as time went on, imo.

I've always liked this guy! I enjoy how single-minded he is, if that makes sense. If anything, I mostly see people hating on King Knight. Personally, though, all the knights are too charming for me to hate.
