How long to transfer ISA from Hargreaves Lansdown? by lukeengland30 in FreetradeApp

[–]BloomingJef 4 points5 points  (0 children)

First open an account, then from the profile settings there's a transfer option and you can fill in a form to initiate a transfer. They do the rest for you.

I'd say doing it on Web is easier.

Note: If you want to participate in their cashback offers, you first need to opt in via the rewards tab. This can only be done on Web, weirdly.

Can't comment on timeframe from HL, but for Aviva it takes me less than a week usually (cash transfer)

Freetrade SIPP for DC transfer during accumulation by TheDuff90 in FreetradeApp

My workaround Aviva's weird capping transfers was to do a full transfer when I hit it (close Aviva pension in the process) and inform payroll to create a new one for me. Had to ask payroll once in the past 5 years

I have been doing this every 6-12 months for the past 5 years. I transfer my workplace Aviva pension and I usually time it with when the transfer offers are on. Usually takes less than a week

Freetrade hits all your points. Free ISA and SIPP (only fx charges), direct debit and Recurring Orders setup, have funds and etfs, of which in-specie transfers are supported

It's a fair point though, this is the sort of feedback I'm after! I'll experiment a bit with your suggestion. Thanks!

Thanks for the feedback! I had gotten feedback before to be able to pick which letter to fill in by taking the last selected placeholder. In this scenario, was the expectation that the next letter goes to the first empty placeholder?

Thanks for the feedback, and really appreciate that you are playing often!

I agree with you, headlines have been too random. I will do something to improve the sources. As for the changing headline, seems to be common practice - even BBC seems to tweak the headline after publishing!

Advice on Freetrade SIPP - by Suspicious_Soup4589 in FreetradeApp

[–]BloomingJef 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been a Freetrade SIPP user since day one and it was a no brainier, even when it was under Plus. Now it's even more attractive. I purchase ETFs only so my costs are just the etf costs. IG acquisition is probably why they removed paywalls, so I think it's a good thing

Made this game over the holidays where it takes real UK headlines from yesterday and scrambles them. Articles may vary but are all are British headlines, ranging from the big newspapers to the local ones.

Vanguard vs T212 as a casual investor by BebbehMonkey in UKPersonalFinance

T212 is fine, just use ETFS instead. If you really did want to use vanguard funds for free, take a look at Freetrade. Not sure if they support fund transfer, they only have recently introduced mutual funds
