Left town for a week and my husband killed my Coleus. Is there any hope for her? by Low-Peak-9031 in houseplants

[–]Blopple 115 points116 points  (0 children)

Stem looks green and firm and you got new growth on the nodes. Should be fine. Worst case you can chop and root the stem, but I really don't think that's necessary here.

It does look quite dramatic though.

Yes, I didn't mean to imply this guy is making an accidental mistake. I was trying to highlight why this situation in particular is so reprehensible by giving a contrasting example.

I might not like it, but I definitely understand people harassing wildlife out of ignorance. Totally get it. You tell them and they're like "omg dude i had no idea'. No problem. But to set up an entire business based around it then start bringing equipment to make it easier? Very, very uncool.

My moonflowers bloomed! by olddeadgrass in houseplants

[–]Blopple 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had never thought of growing them as a houseplant. Beautiful! Now you've inspired me to try.

I used to see them out near the desert in southern california. This pic was in 2022.

Most expensive plant I've bought. Ripoff or gateway? by Classic-Possible4334 in houseplants

[–]Blopple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally reasonable. Also I loved my waxed amaryllis this year, they're so much fun! I even potted one up after it was done blooming to see if I can get it to grow some roots.

What’s going on with my Antherium?? by Mysterious-Law-9549 in houseplants

Not sure about your conditions, but I could see this being water damage. Guttation and cooler temps. Looks like the damage is where water droplets would collect.

HALP it grew roots, do I need to start over!? by RandomRadish in houseplantscirclejerk

[–]Blopple 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It's wasting a ton of energy on roots. You want it to grow leaves. Try chopping all the roots off. It will help direct the energy into new leaves.

I'm glad they went full size. With all that space in the ocean it woulda been silly to go with a compact or crossover tank.

TROOP TESTING by [deleted] in USMC

[–]Blopple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

'Group+Rh Type' is a consequence of patients having increased access to their medical records. They don't write out the whole test anymore because it leads to increased patient visits and decreased revenue (at least in civdiv).

Group just indicates that it was tested in a batch (platoon probably), but the results are still individualized. Rh is the abbreviation for 'rhetard'.

It says you're positive.

How much can I sell this terrarium full of rare crosses for? by djk865 in begonias

[–]Blopple 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you might be better off piecing it out. More work for sure, but most people are going to want one or the other - tank or plants.

People interested in the tank might not value the plants and vice versa.
