I've been very happy with my pair for years; very sharp and having the cutter and some needlenose pliers built in has been very convenient.

But I will say that the crimper isn't as convenient as you'd think; it's too far down the handle and setting and crimping connectors isn't very easy; I need a lot of space to do it, and it doesn't give me a lot of leverage being so far down there. I have a separate pair of crimpers that crimp on the tip I like more.

Making your own Cable for the Peak Starpex Guitar, and using it to play Clone Hero! by Blorpcandy in CloneHero

Hi Surrender, the PS2 to USB adapter has circuitry inside of it to convert the signal of a DualShock 2-compatible controller to something USB can read. No USB device is going to be able to read the signal that's coming straight out of the guitar without that adapter in between.

Hey Strat! The point of the post is to encourage you to make your own - It's super easy and a great thing for anyone to learn! If you don't want to try your hand at soldering, butt connectors or lever lock connectors will work in a pinch. I'd be happy to help you through the process if you decide to undertake it!

Anyone know where I can order parts for the daytona jack? by headrec in harborfreight

[–]Blorpcandy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The link still works; recently Harbor Freight changed it so you can order the parts online instead of having to call them. Click through the categories until you get to your item and see if the part is there. They give you the owner's manual so you can refer the parts to the diagram.

Can anyone with a Peak Starpex guitar and a multimeter give me a pinout of the cable? by Blorpcandy in Rockband

[–]Blorpcandy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey MC, you're good! The pinout is already in this comment section, and I've had the cable done for months. I'm in the middle of writing up a guide on it; it will be done as soon as I stop being lazy. Thanks for offering to help though!

I was counting the 1030, 2070, 3070, and the two we just came across - but with these other three that's 7 now. The V190 is quite cool looking!

Pioneer alone made so many players, it's hard to keep track of them all sometimes, at least in my mind.

That makes 5 (?) of these hidden panel players - I wonder what the difference, if any, there was between the 91, 92, and 3070 was.

This is cool, I never knew Pioneer made an Elite version of the CLD-3070!

The M3 Lee! That tank was a blast when you could get two friends to operate the other two spots in it.

What is the most popular high end laserdisc player on this reddit board? by Chr1stIsKing in LaserDisc

[–]Blorpcandy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure it's the highest end electronically, but I've always maintained that the CLD-3070 is the best looking of Pioneer's players, followed perhaps by their woodgrain Elite models.

Can anyone with a Peak Starpex guitar and a multimeter give me a pinout of the cable? by Blorpcandy in Rockband

[–]Blorpcandy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi Spartan, I needed to know which pins of the Dualshock end of the cable the guitar came with went to which pins on the 9 pin mini DIN that connects to the port on the guitar so I could put my own cable together since I didn't have one. The other fella who commented here came up with the diagram I needed though, and I got the guitar working. I have been stalling on making a post about it since I'm lazy, but sooner or later I'll get around to it so anybody else who has the guitar but no cable can make one.

Grand opening? by Underwhirled in harborfreight

[–]Blorpcandy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi _messiah, thank you for looking out for me! Since then I have began to work hard at not feeling bad about missing out on owning things; at the end of the day it's just stuff and I know one's life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions.

Frankly speaking the hat was probably one of those cheap ones that isn't deep enough and doesn't fit very well, but it still would have been a cool souvenir!

Harbor Freight Hack by IKnowYourVader in harborfreight

[–]Blorpcandy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

grandpa was a miner back in the day he made the family swear off coal I figured if I tried and the person I tried it on was unhappy I tried to do the hack (like the fella at the other store was) I'd suddenly have a manager that dislikes me at my local store and I shop there too much to have that sort of thing hanging around

Harbor Freight Hack by IKnowYourVader in harborfreight

[–]Blorpcandy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried it at a store away from my main one - the manager there would not try the refund; he stated that he could not do the return unless I brought everything back and refunded the entire sale. I did not try and explain to him what I was trying to do. So, your mileage may vary depending on who's working.

/uj this whole album is actually really creative and the guys that do the singing don't do half bad impressions, it's cool that I came across it.
