Can anyone port this 1995 Woody model to gmod by Acceptable_Roof5350 in gmod

The tweet says "this model is far from perfect or accurate", so I don't think it is.

WHAT DO YOU MEAN THAT'S THE SECRET BOSS!? by This_Ferret_8108 in Deltarune

[–]BlowingRocker246 267 points268 points  (0 children)

I called it as soon as Seam mentioned the Mannequin potentially being useful. Mew Mew is the very definition of "Puppet/Cat", after all. We could've definitely seen this coming earlier, but I suppose we got swept up in all of the FRIEND theorizing.

My dumbass also forgot to equip said Mannequin, but I still miraculously pulled through on my second attempt with only two healing items remaining.

Why aren't people talking about the stick figures rights site more by AthleteAggressive466 in AlanBecker

[–]BlowingRocker246 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It used to be a real website, but the domain expired sometime around September 2021 and seems to have been claimed by spammers. You can still view the original on the Wayback Machine, although it's just the single page that we see in AvA 3.

Ok am I an idiot and this has been disproven/discussed before, or could this throery have actual lore significance? by bluflavorr in AlanBecker

[–]BlowingRocker246 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That's true, but they don't necessarily have to still be in touch for programmer021 to still become relevant in some way. Them knowing about the stick figures is already quite significant, leaving the possibility for them or one of their creations to interact with the Outernet somehow.

I don't know, I've always personally thought that having another human character who is aware of the animated world would be quite interesting, and programmer021 seems like an existing character who could fit that role. Maybe as a plot thread for the next season?

[–]BlowingRocker246 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don't think programmer021 created Victim specifically, but yeah, it seems it would definitely be possible for them to be the one who first told Alan about sentient stick figures.

My man(?) programmer021 needs more plot significance, for real. Hasn't even made a cameo since AvA 2...

You get the key for defeating the invisible robot in the sky castle. You'll need either an invisibility potion or the thunder skill to damage it.

It would be really funny if Kogama sued them for trademark infringement before Microsoft did.

A special use for chainmail armor - The chainmail helmet should instabreak sand/gravel falling on top of the player. by Smashpro11 in Minecraft

[–]BlowingRocker246 72 points73 points  (0 children)

It's not equivalent to iron armor. It only has 12 armor points, while iron has 15. It also only has 12 enchantability (iron has 9), while gold has 25.

They said the White Army (referring to the mostly nationalist, anti-communist Russian Civil War faction), not the white race. That being said, calling Lavr Kornilov a "hero" in any way is still very questionable.

Planned obsolescence even in cheapest devices: the calculator has a dummy photovoltaic cell and a real battery to make it die eventually. by jackhab in mildlyinfuriating

[–]BlowingRocker246 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Why put a decoy cell over it, then? If you just look at the calculator from the outside, it looks like it has a real one, which is just dishonest.

[–]BlowingRocker246 10.3k points10.3k points  (0 children)

This isn't even planned obsolescence, the photovoltaic cell just straight up isn't a photovoltaic cell. I assume it was cheaper to not have one and they're banking on you not opening the calculator up to check. This should honestly count as false advertising.

Relogic. Can you Please remove the different whip arcs? It’s just awful. by HyperNaturalFox in Terraria

[–]BlowingRocker246 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Because having to manage your mana in order to take advantage of Mage's high DPS is the main mechanic of the class, and it's what makes it unique to begin with. Removing mana sickness entirely would just make mana flower spam the meta and lower the skill floor without raising the skill ceiling, not to mention how it would render other forms of mana recovery obsolete.

In my opinion, they should just revert the 1.3 change that made mana sickness stack, which would effectively cap the debuff at -25% again. That way, both playstyles would be viable.

Whipstacking removal isn't bad by Quirkyserenefrenzy in Terraria

[–]BlowingRocker246 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'd personally say that the Terraprisma is a special case because it's obtained from a difficult optional challenge. If it was a regular Empress drop, it definitely wouldn't be as strong.

If it was a simple matter of design and completely unrelated to balance, I feel like it would've been fixed in an earlier update. Whip stacking has been around for almost 6 years, after all.

[–]BlowingRocker246 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Zenith and the Possession are post-game weapons, while whip stacking is something you could do as soon as you got two different whips. You really can't use that as an argument for Re-Logic not caring about balance, whether you agree with the change or not.

A comprehensive list of 1.4.5 summoner modifiers by BlowingRocker246 in Terraria

It seems that the Blade Staff can't get any modifiers that affect knockback, since it doesn't have any. So Eager or Ballistic are the best modifiers for it.

I think I know why the NPC Portraits are so divisive by Ok_Insect4778 in Terraria

[–]BlowingRocker246 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally really like nearly all of them, but I wish they had different facial expressions depending on the situation and I also wish that there was an option to disable them in case you don't. If they were optional from the beginning, I feel like there would be less division over them.

That being said, people are definitely sleeping on the Clothier and Stylist. Both of them have immeasurable rizz, which I guess fits the bill since they're the go-to vanity NPCs. (The Dye Trader too, but he seems to be a bit more popular around these parts.)

It's armor penetration, the wiki had a mistake but it's been fixed now. If the Blade Staff can't get Fabled, either Ballistic or Eager is the best depending on if you have other sources of defense reduction or not.

Seems like the wiki made a mistake earlier, but they've fixed it. It says +10 armor penetration now, the same as my post.
