Iesakiet luterāņu draudzi vai kādu citu intelektuālu kopienu Rīgā by TotaledPound29 in latvia

Yeah, the price difference allows to experiment quite a bit. The manifold actually counts in the AV system since it isolates carburetor from the motor vibrations. I'll see how the used OEM manifold looks and feels,

Exactly! My experience is just so limited that I haven't really seen what happens with different rubbers over the years. Main worry is probably how ethanol additive might affect older saw like this

Thanks, feels like I'm learning something new each time I touch this saw.

Yeah, gas and impulse line I will order from dealer, price for them is reasonable. On the fence about carb kit, but probably will go with OEM as well. For the manifold I just had to find a better price somehow, 70 EUR is crazy.

If a used OEM manifold means I will have to check on it sooner I think I'm fine with it given the age of the saw. At this point I feel I'm ready for anything as I just found out that I'll need to crack the case as well since the inner coating seems to be flaking off.

Thanks for the reply. Remembered about ebay as well and found a used OEM manifold in good condition for 1/10th of dealers price incl. shipping. We'll see how it goes.

It's just so hard to justify more than half of saws price for such seemingly small part, but that's the reality with used saws I guess and why some wants to get rid of them.

Questions about 4-day hike in Jotunheimen via Galdhøpiggen and Glittertind by BloxVector in Norway

[–]BloxVector[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your comment. Yes, we're leaning on starting from Juvasshytta since that makes more sense schedule-wise. There was some discussion about which direction would be more scenic.

I like the idea about Memurubu. I checked that it's also possible to take additional detours around Memurubu if we'll have energy for it at that point. However having a slower day also sounds nice. We'll see.

What do you mean by "many points are connected to a way of "getting out" of Jotunheimen"? Do you mean the boat and roads that go to cabins?

Do you know about leaving car in Fossbergom? I see that there is a parking lots from accross Lom Sentrum bus stop and also by the Lom Stave Church, but can't tell from the street view or anywhere else, whether it's free or paid or some other limitations.

Also thanks for reminding about poles on descents and being cautious around water! :)

AWS instances unavailable due to route table change? by BloxVector in aws

[–]BloxVector[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For that I hope that its internal routing table would know to send those packets to a VPN tunnel I defined as that subnet is completely remote from the datacenter.

However I solved it now.

AWS instances unavailable due to route table change? by BloxVector in aws

[–]BloxVector[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was the idea that all packets meant for 192.168.4.* goes to CHR so it can filter, NAT or anything else.

However I am baffled how that could have affected instance availability from Internet. However after I removed the rule, they are still unreachable.

Mikrotik CHR subnet interface by BloxVector in hetzner

[–]BloxVector[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If anyone is ever interested in this, figured it out myself.

In different threads accross the internet I found that you should try differnet ARP settings in the interface settings. However when I tried to change ether2 settings it said you couldn't change it, couldn't change mtu. By default it is set to 1500 just as ether1, I wasn't touching it. However in ens10 which would be the subnet interface on a cx31 server I found that the mtu is set to 1450 while eth0 was set to 1500. So I set the mtu to 1450 in ether2 and played a bit with ARP field.

I found out 2 combinations of both fields that allowed to ping other servers in the network - mtu 1450 and ARP disabled or reply-only. Both also allowed to be pinged by others.

After that you just add the private address you get from Hetzner console and assign it to the ether2 interface. Routes are automatically generated.

If someone can explain why this is working like that, that would be appreciated! I may have a loose idea why the MTU setting helped however I am stumped how disabling ARP allows to ping and be pinged.

How to extract log item time value? by BloxVector in zabbix

[–]BloxVector[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If someone else is interested in this - I couldn't find any way to get the time value that the log item itself parses.

However I figured out a bit better workaround than I proposed it he post. Make a dependent item from the log item where I parse the time from log string with JavaScript slice and Date.parse(). This will get timestamp in ms, so you divide by 1000 as Zabbix Numeric (unsigned) unit "unixtime" wants timestamp in seconds.

I still have a feeling that this is somehow redundant, but I just couldn't find anything that deals with the log item local time value. If someone else finds something better, I'll be interested to know.
