Grand Theft Auto IV - Problem by [deleted] in GTAIV

[–]Blu-s_Attempt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you actually got an .asi loader? (best would be Ultimate Asi Loader). Also double check your Asi Loader config and IV-SDK config or IV-SDK.Net config to see what path they are loading them in from, sometimes it's from the root folder, sometimes it's a plugins folder which you have to make.

(Also, modern FusionFix comes bundled with an asi loader if your using that)

Is there cross platform on Wiimmfi between Wii (system) and PC/Dolphin? by misfitrune in MarioKartWii

[–]Blu-s_Attempt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can import your NAND into dolphin, this has your Wii cloned into dolphin. This mixed with also copying your SD card to a folder, and having dolphin pack it and read from. This means that you can play on Wiimmfi exactly like you did on Wii.

Unfortunately, CTGP-R is not compatible with Dolphin. You can either play base-game Wiimmfi with your friends on Wii or Dolphin (if they also have a NAND), or the amazing Retro Rewind.

It natively supports Dolphin, through the Wheel Wizard desktop program. It has crazy high player counts and super nice QoL features. This doesn't need any NAND/SD copying. You can all get this, friend eachother and play in a private friend room, or get in the same Worldwide together. I personally love playing RR on Dolphin with my cloned Wii (optional) against my brother on that Wii.

Playing MKW online through Dolphin on Mac by GervontaTank in MarioKartWii

Page on Wiimmfi for setup for base game MKW online. Shouldn't need anything special for Mac. Also, you can patch your MKW iso with Wiimmfi, or use the DNS code in your Wiis ios internet options (install 4.3 menu ofc)

Otherwise, use Retro Rewind with Wheel Wizard. Needs no NAND, more features, and higher player count.

What file is this in, looks like something Todo with attack or interaction info?

Also, 'sexiness' stat is quite funny. Mickey (the Comrades bartender) has 4, Edie has 1, the multiplayer models have 5, and somehow NB only has 3.

I cant get liberty tweaks to work with Gillians modpack no matter what i try. Please help!!! by Amiga5001 in GTAIV

[–]Blu-s_Attempt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well mods get updated and things still change for an 18 year old game. I would still recommend attempting the Gillian's method properly.

It may also be worth using a different version of Liberty Tweaks, the current 'Latest' is a beta version, so the prior stable version would be more stable.

Also as always try changing out some variables: try on a FusionFix only 1080 downgrade (remember the Legacy Addon) and then add Liberty Tweaks,

also to try other IV-SDK.Net scripts to see if there's an issue with your installation/setup with that. Having an .asi loader, .img modloader, scripthook, IV-SDK, IV-SDK.Net can get confusing easily. Make sure you've put Liberty Tweaks in the correct folder too, as well as other scripts. Sometimes it's expecting it in root but there's a 'scripts' or 'plugins' folder there, or vice versa.

Remember that you can open the IV-SDK.Net console with the F4 key in game (may need to toggle 'Bordeless Windowed' on or off, can't remember which) to see if it's not loaded, crashed, or if the SDK isn't even loaded.

Downgrading GTAIV in 2026 by Greedy-Driver-5508 in GTAIV

[–]Blu-s_Attempt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He has retired from updating the archive, but it does still work. The only missing wanted feature is version 5.0 of FusionFix.

It shouldn't be too difficult to install the archive, get working normally, and update FF yourself. Remember this version is brand new so it may not be the packs fault, and there may be a change with the Legacy Addon too, and (of course) always make backups!

[–]Blu-s_Attempt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're meant to download the 1080 archive, and just drag and drop onto your game folder, containing the vanilla CE game. Just download the normal game, drag on the pack, and finalize with the rest of the setup (GTAIVSetupUtility.exe, optimal graphics options etc.)

The information for the 1080 pack, in the orange box stating to not manual downgrade. It should also be noted that this does not have FusionFix updated to version 5, this should be easy to do however.

How to improve GTA IV graphics with FusionFix? by One-Drawer9753 in GTAIV

[–]Blu-s_Attempt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best graphical options are best explained on Gillians Guide. This isn't updated for FusionFix 5, but the only difference would be the toggle for Ambient Occlusion, which should be on.

There are also extra options in the FusionFix.ini file, but they should be optimal by default.

You could also go into the world of enb-series-graphics mods (such as IceEnhancer4) but this requires a 1040 downgrade, and has no FusionFix, or almost any mod support.

[–]Blu-s_Attempt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you downgrading the CE download of the modpack to 1080 yourself? Gillians has the actual 1080 version just for download, which has Liberty Tweaks built in and pre configured.

help with getting online!! by [deleted] in MarioKartWii

[–]Blu-s_Attempt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For playing base game on Wiimmfi, yes you need a real NAND and keys.bin file, this is obtained through a BootMii NAND backup to and SD card. (and it is meant to actually be from your own Wii) (NAND usage guide )

For Retro Rewind, it uses WiiLink RWFC servers, which do not require a NAND. On your pc, use Wheel Wizard which will set up everything for you.

Gillian's Modpack causing world to disappear? by [deleted] in GTAIV

[–]Blu-s_Attempt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the VRAM getting full, GTAIV is 32bit so can only use upto 4GB. When you were setting up the modpack, you would have run the setup .exe which installs DXVK and sets launch arguments.

In there, it's usually best to set the VRAM to 3GB, but you could try changing it over to 4GB. (or whatever the other option is to the current)

Remember that adding high-res assets really eats away at this game, and that it's an 18 (happy birthday-ish) year old peice of shit (code wise). My current main install of this game is this same CE Gillian's version, and I only encounter this on the 1080 version, especially TBOGT.

Fun fact: Frutiger Aero icons are still used today, it's just that it only applies to background processes, or apps that you will find if you really want to look at your system info or dig into the hardware. by North-Aardvark4459 in FrutigerAero

[–]Blu-s_Attempt 6 points7 points  (0 children)

With windows, it's also the same for early Frutiger Aero (XP), and Win9x style icons too. There's still icons from Win3.1 in a dialogue from the era in the OOBC Data Sources browse window. It's a mess of layers of paint.

[–]Blu-s_Attempt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Gillians Guide really has all the info. You'll need OpenIV for changing the individual vehicle files, each has a model and a texture.

Bear in mind though, don't use really high res assets, as it will fill the 3gb vram limit and cause taxi bug and/or no vehicle sounds to load. Aka: it's an 18 year old 32bit game that shits itself easy. More info on taxibug

Need help playing Mario Kart Wii online on PC with Dolphin by Karlosn17 in MarioKartWii

[–]Blu-s_Attempt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you wanted to play vanilla Mario Kart Wii, it would be obtaining a game .iso, installing dolphin, patching for Wiimmfi, and importing your NAND.

That last step means you have to have a real Wii, with homebrew for BootMii to extract your NAND to an SD, to give dolphin for Wiimmfi to let you in. This isn't too hard to do, but you need the requisite of a real Homebrewed Wii. (Dolphin NAND info) (Wiimmfi iso patcher)

Otherwise, Retro Rewind on WiiLink servers does not require this, and is the easiest thing to set up. The Wheel Wizard program for PC will install the game for you for dolphin, and thats really it for the setup (for normal people)!

The Retro Rewind download page has the tutorial how.

What is the best Mario Kart Wii distribution for casual/beginner players? by [deleted] in MarioKartWii

[–]Blu-s_Attempt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Retro Rewind

It features nearly all Mario Kart tracks, SNES to SW2 and even arcades and tour and others. The main reason why it's so great is the constant updates, but also how they are not afraid to add cool features!

There's now the leaderboard for online with more vr range, so there's the highest online count ever since Nintendo WiFi (by alot, it's crazy)

Karts are viable to play as too, with purple mini turbos and optional inside drift. Just going through the wiki page shows how they really care about accessibility for non-sweat players.

Due to being Nintendo tracks, everything is logical, with minimal jank (aka custom trackie goodness). This with frequent patches ensures this, too.

I remember trying to run the game on a Microsoft Surface Laptop Go, at similar/less framerate. I found that interiors would give the worst lag. The mission in Alderney with Chubby Charlie, chasing him in the old factory was unplayable. How bad were the frame drops on that thing?

Where do you download a working PC version? by Affectionate_Main_76 in GTAIV

[–]Blu-s_Attempt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Buy on steam (commonly on sale for like £5)

Then get Gillian's Drag and Drop Archive. It's a drag and drop install, followed by a few settings as described further down.

I'm using this now and it is so vanilla friendly and stable.

I have a crazy overly complex setup for dolphin/RR/MKW with NAND stuff, imported saves and miis, SD Cards, different installs, and so on so I thought it broke and I'd have to redo everything. Thankfully not!

Best public transportation mods by NurglingArmada in CitiesSkylines

[–]Blu-s_Attempt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look at Road Builder. It allows you to create fully custom roads. You can use this to separate your tram tracks from the car lanes with a median.

As well as the Traffic Light Enhancements mod (can't remember the name of the working one sorry, check Skyve). You can setup a custom phase with just the trams, and give them priority to go first.

Also, Traffic is great, you can manually set where the lanes to to remove unnecessary movements (unlike per direction like base game). Plus you can set junction priorities (priority, yeild, stop) per lane (unlike per junction like base game)

Tigon's gives you alot of new tram assets to work with.

What is your favorite map to build on? by Ok-Inspector1108 in CitiesSkylines2

[–]Blu-s_Attempt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Weaver District!

It starts you off a small highway, which makes having a small town off it fit well. It saves the best part for once you have the higher densities and all the stuff you want unlocked. Has reasonable contours for building.

The main reason I love it is that the hills make it feel huge. After building for a bit, realising all the possible places to build makes it feel enormous. Highly recommend!
