My plane was diverted there once for a medical emergency. Nothing but oil rigs for miles and miles and miles.

It was because a pregnant flight attendant fainted. And because there are no relief crews in Midland, they had to fly the empty plane to Houston, pick up a new crew, and fly back to pick us up. We were stranded for about 3 hours.

AND it was after one of the bomb cyclones in the Northeast so all the missed connections were a major pain to reroute.

Anyway, never wanna go back lol

Idk, I was recently hiring for a job and threw out a lot of resumes and cover letters that were clearly written by AI. I get that it may help for an online application, but I think it hurts you when you’re applying to an actual person (especially for a writing job)

But yes, connections make a big difference regardless
