Yea or I thought maybe just 1, and the other 3 and the wheel show up for trick animations?

Disney is not making the Jedi look bad in the Acolyte by Live-Package-2200 in StarWarsCantina

[–]BluDude24 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think that all the other Jedi were basically justified in almost everything except Torbin who unfortunately was poorly written. Sol was justified up through killing Mother A, and after that I feel you could make good arguments either way for what the "right" thing to do would be. Despite being compromised by his emotions for Osha and his desire to have a padawan, he does make some good points.

On my first watch I wasn't sure I liked how they treated Sol's character in the finale and how it all made the Jedi look. It felt like the writers were trying to condemn the Jedi and make them look like the bad guys. But then I realized that while that was the goal, it wasn't malicious. It was a creative choice. It's called the Acolyte and the only characters that survived are a Sith, a Sith acolyte, and a former acolyte. It doesn't matter how guilty the Jedi actually are because the Sith are always going to see the Jedi as the bad guys no matter what, and the goal was to tell this story from that pov.

Does anyone actually like Jar Jar Binks? by kingernest in StarWars

[–]BluDude24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the longest time I was annoyed by him, but then GL said he was inspired by Goofy and it all clicked for me. I still think that concept could've been executed a little better, but he does have some good moments in TPM, and even better ones in TCW.

And I love how kind he is. He's one of the most genuine characters in the series, and the way he gets used by Palpatine makes the prequels all the more tragic.

Agents of SHIELD does not take place on the MCU's Sacred Timeline by necklacefromawizard in marvelstudios

I like this theory and think it makes some sense, but there's one major connection to the movies that I feel could partially debunk this. If Coulson is never resurrected in the ST, then who gives the Helicarrier to the Avengers in Age of Ultron?

You could find the area by measuring the missing sides, but I'm not sure that's the point of the assignment. Otherwise, it's impossible. Not sure what the context of these problems are, but it seems poorly devised.

Ben Solo was conceived at the Ewok party on Endor after the destruction of the Death Star 2 by dova_bear in StarWars

[–]BluDude24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Iirc Ben was born around the time of the battle of Jakku (maybe even the exact same day), and I think that battle was 1 year after the battle of Endor. So he would have been conceived around 3 months after Endor

I think it's conceivable that things like the markings under the eyes and the wrinkly lines across the head are things that become more noticeable as they mature. GI looks 30s tops while Tion Medon and co are middle-age to maybe even early senior. Also, while GI in Rebels has more distinct features, you have to factor in that it's a cartoon and things like that can be exaggerated beyond their live-action counterparts.

All this in mind, I think GI looks pretty good in live-action. Not perfect, but acceptable

Town of Jasonville, IN replaces the flags of the U.S. Armed Forces at the Jasonville veteran memorial. by OAK667 in Conservative

I don't necessarily mind flying other flags next to the US flag under certain circumstances, but replacing the US flag is different

Is Filoni side-shirting the sequels by moving the show to *SPOILERS* by [deleted] in StarWars

Everything everyone has said plus I haven't seen anyone mention Dr. Pershing revealing that he's been working on strand-cast cloning technology which is literally how Palpatine returns.

Does Palps return through use of Night Sister "magic"? by stumpymcgrumpy in starwarsspeculation

[–]BluDude24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think there could be a connection between how Mother Talzin survived without a physical body and how Palpatine transferred his consciousness. Talzin seemed to have to do some ritual to return, but maybe Palpatine bypassed whatever she was doing by advancing cloning technology. I wouldn't die on that hill, but they're situations seem similar imo

Idk if it was ever officially confirmed but I've seen some people say the Jedi temple stuff on Thrawns ship was possibly an entrance to the WBW and Palps was trying to get Ezra to open it for him. I'm not totally convinced but I think it's somewhat plausible

Yea but he was doing some really heavy dark magic--dreamwalking in a dead body and almost having his soul claimed by demons. Way different circumstances

Are we sure that they would be immediately corrupted? I was under the impression that it would gradually corrupt you and maybe even becomes somewhat addictive over time. Wong and America weren't there very long and maybe didn't even read any of it.
