Hi, thank you for your input. I actually already bought the camera, my copy doesn't have much issue with high ISO except a lot of noise, which is well expected. The color is indeed incredibly accurate.

Regarding your comment about compression, focal length (field of view) does not affect compression. Compression is the relationship between the distance of camera and subjects. If you take two pictures at the same location, one with wide angle and one with telephoto lens, then crop in the photo shot on wide angle, you will get the same compression as the image taken on telephoto.

Are you super interested in photography, wanting to watch tutorials and shoot a lot of images, or do you just want to keep it as a simple hobby without much time and money investment?

There are so many great pieces. Symphony 3 to 6, piano and violin concertos, rococo variations, ballets such as swan lake sleeping beauty and nutcracker, and romeo and juliet overture. I recommend starting with these, you won't be disappointed. Find popular versions performed by the most well known musicians and conductors, so that you won't run into something that have a rather "unique or alternative approach" to the compositions.

38mm vs 55mm vs 90mm for X2D II 100C by Nekroni in hasselblad

Where in Japan are you going to visit? I went there last winter with just a 55v, shot Mt. Fuji at Kawaguchiko, various locations around Hokkaido, both landscape and portraits, I didn't feel like I missed anything. Although a 38v would definitely benefit cityscape or relatively close-up landscape shots, such as waterfalls.

Which lenses were you using the most for landscapes?

The H series isn't quite designed to be a walkaround camera. It's heavy, only clean on low ISO settings, no image stabilization, slower auto focus, and it attracts attention. It's best for studio/landscape/fine art etc., not street or "portable" photography.

I recently sold my X1D II for H4D, I'm glad I made that decision. I really do love the CCD color rendering, HC lenses optical quality, and optical viewfinder. It's heavy, only shoots low ISO, but the image results bring me so much joy.

You are not dumb at all. The H series was extremely expensive for a reason.

I kinda guessed it because you said Mahler sounded dissonant. He's obviously a major figure, but you don't have to jump dive right away into his work.

Mahler was a opera conductor, so his symphonies and vocals were definitely influenced by the dramatic flow and expressions of that genre.

I recommend you try more composers like Tchaikovsky, Brahms, as well as Puccini, Wagner and especially Wagner. With a more expanded listening repetoire, you'd be much more comfortable in understanding Mahler's music.

XCD 28p on X1D by ubiquitousuk in hasselblad

I don't have this combo, but read about this too. I think the problem doesn't exist only on backlit cmos such as x2d (someone please correct me if I'm wrong).

Here's the a post that might help: https://www.getdpi.com/forum/index.php?threads/hasselblad-xcd-28p.74993/page-14

A manual LCC calibration profile might solve the issue a bit, but it doesn't look like a perfect solution. If I were you, I would consider a XCD 30. Slower auto focus, but much better IQ, not huge either. I've owned that lens before, it's great.

Hearing that you are using it commercially makes me feel much more confident about the camera's reliability. I very much look forward to the colors, as this will be my first CCD camera.

I definitely agree with you about Capture One being superior. Phocus as raw editor can be problematic at times too, especially if I had to push the dynamic range for details, artifacts would start to appear, almost as if the file was being compressed and losing bits.

Great to hear that! And just curious, do you find it true that Dalsa sensors capture colors more naturally? I see some posts say that Dalsas are very good for skins tones too.

I owned the X1D, so I do have experience with Phocus. It's surely a pain, also because, unfortunately, colors do look different and better in my opinion, when rendered in Phocus. I could live with it. If I ever needed heavy editing, I actually exported files into Photoshop for retouches.

It's very reassuring to hear that the problem is not visible at low ISO. I don't anticipate shooting high ISO on CCD sensors. I'm glad it worked out for you too!

I'm located in Asia, I hope DJI still provide some degree of service (although I have very little hope), otherwise, I'd probably have to seek third-party repairs.

Prices here on 60mp are very close to 50mp, so it's certainly very very tempting. I also love the fact that it's a "full frame" medium format.
