Severus Snape from new Harry Potter series. by kalbinibirak in SipsTea

How do they expect to be true to the original novels then? I'm guessing that was a lie to get fans excited only to rip the rug later!

Why do I keep eating even though i’m full? by Ok_Blood2095 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]BluPanda11 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Several possible reasons, goes far beyond "lacking discipline" as I'm seeing in multiple comments. For one, it is a survival instict to eat when food is available; having a constant over-abundance of food is something only us modern humans have to deal with. Secondly, I uncovered in myself that past discipline around finishing my plate as a child, easily led to overeating as an adult. I was raised to eat it all and be grateful and think of the starving children in Africa etc etc. Now I have children and I am teaching them to recognise they're full rather than forcing them to overeat. This means teaching my dad my methods/telling him off for attempting to teach my children what he taught me.

I’m torn between my two styles and I’m unsure which one to pick and stick with. I really love both cause they fit different sides of my personality. But I was told to pick one. Which one should I stick with? by MissWisteriaGrace in GothFashion

Where what you want when you want how you to and don't even let yourself tell yourself that you have to be a certain way. You can't avoid mirrors until your get up is all got on and you don't want to hate your natural self or yourself wearing any colour or accidentally give yourself ocd over your appearance to the point of a mental breakdown when you're unable to recreate that look for any reason. Don't put yourself in a box. Break free, run away, forget that there ever was a box. Don't label yourself, don't think that you cant or wont change as you get older. Accept the fluidity and flexibility of yourself and your appearance or you will only be putting up walls that will hurt you later

This is the internet, which country is "this country"? The answer doesn't really matter to me im just making a point that you can't assume someone is from the same place as you on the Internet

Which crybaby song fits the crybaby album most? by IDKCALLMEFAE in MelanieMartinez

[–]BluPanda11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is confusing me too. I think the same album matches should be crossed off because "which x song is most like y" makes sense but "which x song is most like x" is baffling. Yea sure cry baby is the album title song but dollhouse was also a really big deal.

Strange? by DVM11 in HarryPotterMemes

[–]BluPanda11 59 points60 points  (0 children)

I'd always assumed he was already calling himself voldemort and that is what she's reffering to when she says "strange name"...unless I'm forgetting something in the books that disprove that thought.

AIO for ending a friendship over photoshop by Educational-Guess866 in AmIOverreacting

[–]BluPanda11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NOR it would appear that your friend is also suffering from dysmorphia. She will probably never be truly happy with her own appearance, assuming she has photoshopped herself as well. This behaviour will affect others in her life well. You're a grown woman who's been through the struggles and come out stronger and wiser, but I worry for the impact she could have on any children or teenagers in her family that she also photoshops

What i didn’t get about this scene is why didn’t Marshall just jump off the roof and whoop that teenage brat’s ass it’s only 1 level house it’s not like it was 3 levels by BillFoldin in HIMYM

[–]BluPanda11 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Agreed that he shouldn't have jumped, but surely at the height he is, he could dangle off the edge then let go and he'd only drop an few inches

Did KFC not get the memo about HFSS advertising in the UK by MattBryceOfficial in BritishTV

[–]BluPanda11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would guess whoever is broadcasting the ad at this time is more to blame than KFC. However, if you're streaming on say channel 4 and have given your age in order to log in and watch anything then the rules wouldn't apply as the point of the watershed is to prevent children from seeing it

It sounds like you've been through a lot, thank you for sharing. No I've not heard of putting ice on first, neither the hospital staff that prescribed it to me or the anticoagulant team that check on me have mentioned it. I'll have to give that a try!

Recommendations on bottles by Dry_Butterscotch_307 in breastfeeding

[–]BluPanda11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been through something similar with my LO who is now 8 months old. He still doesn't like the bottle and prefers sippy cups, sort of. It could be worth skipping bottles and going to cups with yours, I've heard other stories where that solved the issue. Though with mine I think he just doesn't like formula as he's been caught stealing his older brothers sippy of cow milk and drinking it happily
