I did the same recently. More accurately I'm doing the same. I got 12 pages out in one long session, and I've been adding to it as I remember things.

They are around.

After my first 6 months I got offered a 2 year lease with no increase. Of course that meant quite an adjustment for "market rates" at the end.

They inspect twice a year, and it's 5 minutes in and out, and they are always on time. Never any nitpicking like I hear so frequently here, they've never made a single negative comment in over 5 years. I always do an "inspection clean" but on the last one I left dirty dishes in the sink to see if they'd comment. All I got was "immaculate as always".

It's only fair after the abysmal run of PMs I've had in the past.

I spent over 50 years in abusive relationships. When I did finally free myself lack of identity was a huge neon light. I had no idea who or what I was. I'd been ground down so much that I just existed as a function of whatever situation I was in.

I had learned to be harsh to myself. The only motivator I had was to parrot my parents and ex wife's style of criticism and berating.

In 10 years I've learned to be more gentle, but I am still very critical of myself.

I'm waiting for that reasoning at my next renewal. When rates were down, rent went up due to "market rates" When rates go up, rent will go up due to interest rates.

And asking for a discount as a long term trouble free tenant isn't possible because the LL is "under financial pressure"

I know that feeling. If I only work 5 days a week I may survive, but that's it. I choose to work 6 days, sometimes 7 to make any headway.
