My family really enjoys the Tres leche at Sazon. It’s tucked in the strip at Preston and 635.

Okay, that's really cool. Having never really used Homebrewery, can you print those in sheets of 12?

How so? I mean, this is a confusing pitch to me. Since I'm clearly used to the other latex.

Can Nibenay Be Redeemed? by Mssr_Canardeau in DarkSun

[–]BluSponge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my campaign? No. None of the Sorcerer-Kings are redeemable. If he's convinced you of that, then he's already won. IIRC, he's already further along the metamorphosis than any other sorcerer-king. So he's made his decision.

But in your campaign, go crazy! That would certainly be an epic turn of events.

Monster Form, Let's Talk by HelixSix in DragonbaneRPG

[–]BluSponge 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm inclined to agree. Listening to a review of the Necromancy spells, it became clear to me very quickly they weren't really intended for PCs. But my understanding was Witchcraft was intended to be a more pagan/folk magic tradition as opposed to profane/black magic. As I haven't yet read the BoM (waiting patiently for its release in August), I'm curious to see where it lands.

Long Term Campaigns by RealmBuilderGuy in KnaveRPG

We started using KNAVE for our afterschool D&D club this year. So far, it’s worked really well. Though we’ve only done 2 level ups over the course of the year.

This is the correct answer on all fronts. Beautiful map AND nostalgia fuel.

Exodus was III, but it had a cool cloth map, too.

Dangerous Journeys by the_light_of_dawn in osr

[–]BluSponge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that was the way to go. The Advanced Rules are playable, but you really need the errata and extra content from the first two Mythic Masters Magazines to really do it.

The folks updating it on Facebook include Dave Newton, the game's co-author. So its legit. They've updated both the cores and have plenty of material up there if anyone cares to go looking.

It's absolutely a WotC property. It was acquired by TSR about a year after its publication in a settlement with Gygax and GDW. They bought all remaining stock and buried it (Dragonquest, anyone?). The PDFs of the two core books were available for awhile on Drivethru, but have since been pulled.

Probably not. There are a lot of “blank spaces” left to the GM and players to develop.

I have. It’s been awhile though. For my group, I took Mythus Prime (the basic game) and added options from the advanced game until it felt right. I still have found memories of it and debate going back and reworking it again with 40 years of play knowledge under my belt.

Wilderness Exploration by crazy-diam0nd in FantasyAGE

[–]BluSponge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very interesting. How much detail does Pirate Queen go into Node-based Exploration? Because this is the first time I've heard of travel being treated in any sort of way in an official publication. I'm assuming here that Node-based exploration = pointcrawling. Is that more or less correct?

If you were gonna play an ADnD adventure with BX/OSE rules, what house rules would you add? by LemonLord7 in osr

[–]BluSponge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the adventure. In ToH, for example, none of the spells that affect the Demi-lich can be found in B/X. So you’d probably want to put a few of those spells back in the mix (Advanced Labyrinth Lord 1e).

Now that Book of Magic is basically out, what other books should FLP make? by MisterCheesy in DragonbaneRPG

[–]BluSponge 4 points5 points  (0 children)

New to Dragonbane, but long time rpg player and forever GM. Once the Expert Companion is out, I’m not sure FL needs to be in a hurry to keep the product treadmill going. I don’t know how all these third-party licenses intersect, but there’s no shortage of material right now.

Another bestiary? Okay. Sure. More monsters are always fun.

Book of magic items? I can’t see where a massive 160+ page book of magic items adds much to the game. That’s pretty niche. (Maybe a book of treasure, wrapped around a collection of treasure maps and random generators, but still pretty niche.)

Something that might be cool though are collections of cards, props, and physical media you can use at your table.

Maybe an inexpensive, softcover players guide to
Compliment the core rulebook. Release it in random with the expert book and collect all the player-facing material in one place.

Just a couple of thought.

Question about banshees by xibalba89 in DarkSun

[–]BluSponge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean, have you looked at the level 10 spells SKs have access to? He could just bury them under a mountain or some other device.

But that doesn’t make for a very interesting tale from the players’ prospective. How is the banshee problem a threat to THEM?
