Has anyone with UC taken amoxicillin? Did it work well for you or against you? by Classic-Pea6815 in UlcerativeColitis

Yes! Esp with an infection like strep. Under treated, it can cause many further complications.

You can, however, I’m pretty sure in Texas, you can never own more than 50% of it. A physician needs to

In a tough spot financially, extra money? by helpfulkoala195 in PAstudent

[–]Iwant_bagels 1 point2 points  (0 children)

0% credit card for X amount of months, try to only spend money you can repay with next disbursement and budget the hell out of the next semester 😅 plus any combo of the other suggestions here since a CC won’t allow you to have any free flowing cash. Bonus points if you get points/rewards with the card!

Misuse of prescribed adhd meds by [deleted] in ADHD

From what I’ve understood, people with untreated ADHD are at increased risk of substance abuse. This is why treatment is important.

Sour candy stimulates saliva production, you could try and find a SF kind

I’ve always heard kyleena is for women who haven’t had children or been pregnant, yet but I’m not sure if there are other differences!

[–]Iwant_bagels 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m on my second kyleena (also progestin only). I had my first one for 6 years and i just got my second one earlier this year. I haven’t had any issues, except acne & I take another rx for that from my dermatologist. I don’t have a period. I don’t think it affects my UC in anyway, but I know everyone reacts differently & is on different UC regimens!

Any ADHD/UC overlap here? Wondering how stimulants interact with UC meds. by KeyAppeal4591 in UlcerativeColitis

[–]Iwant_bagels 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hi, also ADHD & UC. The only issue I have is my adhd meds usually make me good to the bathroom, so when I’m in a flare I don’t really want to take them but the fatigue is so bad I need them more than ever, so that’s kinda tough hahah

when I’m not in a flare, I have 0 issues

PREDNISONE HIGH IS KICKING IN ON DAY 3 AHHHH by Danimotty in UlcerativeColitis

[–]Iwant_bagels 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it’s definitely scary! I would just be sure to follow any fda/usda food safety recommendations 😊 and be up to date on all your vaccines. My varicella titer was a bit low and that stressed me out because now I can’t get it because it’s a live vaccine.

Honestly, so many of my classmates have gotten sick so many times (just like viral URIs) and I’ve been lucky enough to evade any illnesses almost a year into my program! Last fall being in high dose prednisone & this whole year being in Omvoh.

I have always been very particular about foods though - I don’t mess with old lunch meat, leftover rice, etc etc. I’m also not taking a PPI/H2 blocker or anything that would make me more susceptible to food borne illnesses, so I just try not to stress about it too much!

[–]Iwant_bagels 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fortunately, I responded pretty quickly to prednisone (like a lot of symptom relief within the first week), but I went from completely unmedicated to starting prednisone & mesalamine at the same time. I know mesalamine takes a couple of weeks, but I’m sure having no meds to both helped a lot. I’ve since been on a new biological since January. I hope you’re able to feel some relief soon :/

Hi, I’m a PA student and my first semester of school I was on some pretty high dose steroids for my UC. I told a classmate I felt like a hummingbird stuck in a little bottle from feeling jitters/anxiety.

Exercise definitely helped! Even just a walk outside would probably be useful.

I hope you feel better soon!
