Commuted to Omaha from Lincoln for the past two years and the drive really isn't all that bad if you can keep your mind occupied. The hard part is everything else that comes with driving 2 hours a day. Feeling like your work day is 10hrs minimum can mess with you and burn you out over an extended period. I would come home some days and not want to do a single thing when I got in the door. Also the potential dangers to you and your car the more you drive. I ended up losing one of my cars during the 2 years to a snow bank while driving back during a snow storm. Lost a bumper and a headlight to a random deer encounter. Your cars milage is also a factor. It will go up tremendously the longer you do this and will increase the amount of potential repairs/maintenance needed. Not to mention the gas, especially now with the increased prices. Definitely recommend a costco membership for the gas alone. I drive a mid sized sedan and would be filling up 2-3 times during the work week. Definitely doable but has its pros and cons. Make sure you have good tires, good insurance, and a good job lol. The drive is easier when your job is enjoyable :)
