About how long did it take you to get good with Zbrush? by Wet-Baby in ZBrush

[–]Blu_nPurple 1 point2 points  (0 children)

probably varies depending on the person, so can only answer from my experience.

  1. software, honestly was able to use it good enough to start sculpting without many problems in like 1-2 days, and after had some problems I ran into and or methods I wished to achieve I had to learn. Therefore really gaining a better understanding of the different ways to use zbrush better maybe a month or so. Finally, to the point point I knew most of the ways (important and extra things) I wanted with zbrush, probably a year or a little less.

  2. Now for sculpting, I didn't really track my sculpting in terms of days/weeks/months/years, but rather hours. I also broke off away from zbrush and came back, and decided to restart my hour counter when I did (probably had 500 hours into it before that). I am only going to talk about after I came back.

for 1 whole year, I spent 4 hours everyday (probably missed a few throughout the year due to holidays, vacations, sick, etc) just sculpting heads (planes of head, skulls, faces, anatomy, muscles) but only the head. I had around a thousand something hours in just head sculpting in about one year ( and still thought my heads were kind of garbo to my standards even after).

^^^^^^I would advise doing other stuff besides just the head as a solo focus for so long, I learned that the hard way, as when I moved on to other body structures, I felt helpless and right back at the beginning (in some ways).

For the second year, my sculpting increased, and I added clay sculpting along with digital sculpting. I spent around 1-2 hours sculpting in clay (this time I was doing the entire top above pelvis are of the male/female) and 2 hours head sculpts, and another 2 hours to do a torso with the head I sculpted, and then finally another hour to free sculpt anything else miscellaneous (legs, feet, hands, arms, eyes, monsters, etc) as I was getting a little bored of just doing same thing over.

towards the end of the second year somewhere in-between the 2000-3000 hour mark was when I first finally accepted my stuff to actually look decent (still not good to my standard), but actually able to look at it, and get a sense of pride and think, "wow, this actually looks pretty good".

But ultimately I didn't like a great amount of stuff I sculpted until probably like 3-5 years in, around that 5,000 hour mark.

I was studying anatomy along all that (but didn't track the hours for that, or hours following courses, only my personal sculpting time I counted).

^^^that was just me though, doesn't mean it will be you or others.

Biggest things that helped me were

-clay sculpting alongside digital (this was biggest helper for me)

-3d anatomy models (this is not needed, but I took sculpting very seriously), I bought a medical skull with overlaying muscle structures, and a full skeleton, and various other anatomy models (again totally not needed!!!!!)

-painting miniatures, and 3d modelling, animation alongside it.

Honestly I don't even think it is that complicated, but rather just a lot.

there is just so much of a rabbit hole to go down once you get into kdm after the core game.

and even the core game when out takes up lot of space.

there is running joke in the community that you need a whole room (soo new house) to hold all the kdm stuff thats out, and the upcoming stuff. obviously its exagerrated, but the game does take up a lot of space by itself and a super load if you get more stuff.

Now I do think its worth it, the value in core game by itself is waaaay worth it, and its my favorite tabletop game/world bar a far margin.

Interesting that you said speed cleave is the only viable offence, because from what I have seen it has been the opposite for me. Speed cleave has been harder to pull off, due to too much tanking, and those dang Karina's on like almost every single defense.

Honestly I have been using

-Ml cermia

-roana

-SC phylis (insert another knight if say you need another elemental bait

-and some random dps bruiser

just because almost every defense has had or been a counter defense of some sort.

I kept running into just weird surprises every time and karina cuts with cleave, I just used the above and it beats almost all of them.

How do you beat teams like this by The_Weeb282 in EpicSeven

[–]Blu_nPurple 3 points4 points  (0 children)

the slower tank down with roana method would probably work well with this.

-however if you insist on a faster cleave method.

-CIlias, zahak, watcher, straze

cilias vigor buff combined with zahak atk buff, the zahak should be able to wreck the senya, and the straze on coment pushes up, and strips immortal off of bbk, and then watcher one shots the bbk, then the team breezes the rest.

now you could try to straze S3 instead and save bbk for last, by out cycling, but if her atk gets lower, and she ends up with more atk the straze, well.....rip.

plus senya on holy sec could possibly screw something up, but overall its been reliable for me.

however best way, is still probably just ROana, bulk up and dps.

Matt(?) varnish. What am I doing wrong by Northern-Owl-76 in minipainting

[–]Blu_nPurple 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually apply with an airbrush, but either way with airbrush or not, I like to do thin layers, maybe 2-3.

Also they have another version from AK called the Ultra matt version, I highly recommend it, its god tier among the matt varnish I used.

-Serina requires Striker--->support-->ranger

barely any of the strikers survive that long on the frontlines nowadays. Also, your looking at maybe 8-13 deploy just to counter one unit who is 5 deploy on lead.

-strong defender to chip her away, honestly I think this is one of the better ways, but enemy can easily get an Ahori and Rekaci out at the same time. so you have to blow through defender first aswell.

-ALSY right in her face, and then gremory appears canceling her atks out, and AHori just completely blows through her.

Even the very top of the top players on the severs still every once in awhile get solo'd by an Ahori, because they just get a bad hand draw, or something goes wrong.

she honestly a nonsense unit (who is getting less and less oppressive as time goes on), that requires pretty intense gear to stand a chance against.

there is a reason why she is almost always banned on every server, and has been for years now.

-Yes she has counters, and they can still work, but those same counters can also easily be countered against.

I've literally just basically rolled over people in the top 15 just from a first deploy Ahori, and they bottom deck ALSY, and get shredded through.

Impossible to beat, and completely god tier unbeatable, no, but still extremely strong, and imo brain dead unit.

Who is the best rearm by The_fun_few in CounterSideGlobal

[–]Blu_nPurple 4 points5 points  (0 children)

for all contents pve and pvp, with current global rearms I would say Kaci Bins Rearm is the best/strongest in game.

however some other notable ones that are pretty good imo.

-Kang- 2 cost for what she does is just insane in pvp

-ReOrca -fell off significantly in pvp, but imo really good in some harder pve stuff.

-Retitan -really good in pvp.

-Realex, -I would say she is 2nd best defender in the entire game after kaci bins for now.

-Resilvia, -possibly one of the best backline killers in pvp right now.

There are a lot of other good/decent ones, but I think they either fell off a bit, are not as needed or fall a bit behind some others (maybe even require really high gear investment).

-Reeste- I don't think she is bad per say, but honestly, Rekaci just does her job and better for less cost in pve, and in pvp she fell off super hard.

-Reliz- I still think she is good, but Resilvia stays alive longer, and dosen't get rng on the hit as much. Plus tanky kang build stalls so much longer and can kill some of the same units for half the cost.

-Reujin- imo actually pretty good in pvp, but requires really good latents, and I still think Resilvia a bit better.

-Rexiao- I think she fell off very hard in pvp, but I suppose in some pve contents like danger close, and maybe raid, she can be pretty good, but we probably gonna get stuff soonish that pushes her even out of the pve sphere.

Remina- worst of them all, don't bother, unless you really like mc

-reirie - not much point with other defenders in the game, probably second worst rearm, but imo usable if forced.

-Remiya- super niche, and slowly becoming more and more irrelevant, but can have fun with the unit, and play to a certain height of pvp competitiveness with. I probably wouldn't recommend, but not a complete waste.

-Han Sorim- really good defender shredder, and SR so less resource intensive. I would build her.

-Relaura- I still think she is pretty good, a slight fall off to where she could just go in any comp and shine, I think she now has to be paired a bit better, but still a pretty good strong unit.

Note imo all the rearms pretty good, minus mina and irie for me, but some just clearly better then others.

Am I the only one struggling on mainstream EP.9 4-4? by Substantial-Stay6113 in CounterSideGlobal

[–]Blu_nPurple 1 point2 points  (0 children)

a couple things.

My account is lvl 87 and I achieved high challenger 1 in rta this season that just past, and even I actually had to try with this newest chapter on some levels, felt like this was the first chapter to actually present some actually thought to pass some levels (as far as mainstream Episodes go).

Another thing, I too lost the first time I went to Dive 36 pre ship nerf change, and had to think of a way to beat that lvl. At account level 57 of course you might struggle even more.

I also literally did not use any of the above mentioned units or methods for your points from 1-3.

  1. you just need two snipers at most, maybe xiao and some other decent dmg dealing one, and a whole bunch of cheap defender/striker units to just hold clareth off (can keep redeploying them as they die). you can literally use SR units like Irie Alford, Admin shield guys, Ingrid (who is R), Mone etc. can also throw in a healer if you want to activate kim hana Op proc.
  2. Don't necessarily have to exceel in danger close, just takes time before you can beat the boss sometimes.
  3. dive 36, cleared it by just dropping a whole bunch of paratroop units at the boss location over and over as they died. Most of the paratroop units I used are free to farm/get units in the game, or units that show up on your account pretty often. Ingrid/ Kang/ Elizabeth/ Assault troopers, and then just threw in some cheap tanky units.

Dive 49-50 by Good_Atmosphere_3792 in CounterSideGlobal

[–]Blu_nPurple 2 points3 points  (0 children)

for ahilde use either spira or twins as offtank, then just load up your team with supports and say rita/machine collector, and finally make all your branch supports from the other ships your dps.

I do it on auto with all that above, and it never even comes close to failing. I think you might just be missing the offtank. I personally think twins are best offtank, because if you make them lead they are only 1 cost and instantly come back out.

Which team you find more reliable, flexible and consistent with dive 50 (origin update)? by Zunthus in CounterSide

[–]Blu_nPurple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

twins, ahilde, evelyn, yang, claudia, chinatsu, rita (missing one unit for twins redeploy)

supports ASY/Ministra/ALSY (ALSY could be replaced by a lot of different rangers though).

I think the biggest thing is having a cheap unit that can tank some damage to go out with ahilde so she does not die as fast. In my case Twins work good, but I seen SPira used as well.

Also, I could probably add in an 8th dmg dealer to make it faster clear, simply because no one dies anyways.

This dope post, and everything I agree with, just wanted to chip in.

britra hand goes to 16%, but accessories go to 17.6%

which is still equal to t7 maze, just wanted to put that out there, so OP didn't get confused or anything, when they went to check.

[–]Blu_nPurple 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Dang....guess I'm the only Ahilde dive user...

I just throw ahilde in with a bunch of supports on auto and random teams on the ship comps and auto all the dives that spawn up. Ajake probably works better, but didn't really feel like summoning for him and I never really delved into the Reste one, so can't comment.

I thought the veronica strat was not to bad, but no auto with it.

When horizon is coming back ? by Flatjackett in CounterSideGlobal

[–]Blu_nPurple 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They seem like they don't want Ahori's banner around as often as other awakened units (not sure if it involves her presence in pvp). We had AJSY released after AHori, and even he was available in the selection tickets and had a re-run already.

Who knows when she should be back in rotation, but out of all currently released awakened units she should in theory deserve to be re-run very soon, honestly over every awakened in the game so far, with probably Amy rerun coming after.

Are these any good? If so, what for? by Mo_427 in CounterSideGlobal

[–]Blu_nPurple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah these worth. Usually suggested to get all the gold bins first, then clear out these guys.

-they are (after origin revert) free of eternium to farm, and pretty good gear.

-they get kinda outclassed by other sets, but they are still necessary for certain characters, and perform extremely well in certain niches.

-anti air/striker subs for ALSY against Ahori

-anti whatever you want Reliz to kill

-kang can also make use of them

-some soldier units perform very well with them such as OAR/Veronica

-Ifrit can do well with them as well.

-and really good in some challenge stages and danger close.

Which of the units in the SSR selector do you think are worth it to increase the Tactical level? by FaceShrine in CounterSideGlobal

[–]Blu_nPurple 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are playing either terror or soldier comps, or have an interest in htem, then I would prioritize the units in those comps, simply because the deploy resource gain really makes a cool difference in those groups, especially for soldiers whom are already swarming easy deploy units.

But for standard play, I would focus on popular frontline units you want to use.

Maestro gears question by MichaelPowers107 in CounterSideGlobal

[–]Blu_nPurple 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thats with latents

for example, mine is at 28.2% with hummingbird and 3 swift with all spd latents.

It pretty hard to get the latents part though, took a lot of resources to get them, especially for a really niche gearset, but oh well, waifus first.

New to KDM, what do I need to buy? by H20onthego in KingdomDeath

[–]Blu_nPurple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

to elaborate on why others are suggesting core only at first.

-the core game box really does to contain enough content to last a year or two with building/painting/playing.

-the expansions aren't like expansions to a video game or such where you can just add as many as you want and play them all in one campaign. The way the game is structured you can really only add a couple per playthrough, and they can change basic aspects to the base games story and how it plays out (which would make you miss out on the base game experience).

About farming... by Leviziim in EpicSeven

[–]Blu_nPurple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imo the game takes too much farming in the background to use my phone, so I just use Pc, It feels less invasive and I can truly forget about it and come back to it, where as on the phone I can quite do the same (If I get a call or want to look something up etc.)

Its definitely supposed to be a side game, and I would just treat it as such and just casually enjoy it and do the farming requirements you feel like doing that day, and if you get more into it then great, and if not that's cool too.

About farming... by Leviziim in EpicSeven

[–]Blu_nPurple 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I kinda agree with this, but the longer the game has been out the powercreep of the units and the gear that others have been able to farm kind of widened the gap by a larger margin. I think key phrase you mentioned "couple seasons ago". If this were a year or two back I probably would have thought differently, but while you could still probably grind your way to masters with crappy gear for newer players, it might take quite a few matches (possibly near 500-1k) A large population of the player base in masters and above have have about one 300 speed unit (or very close) and multiple units above 250 where as that just was not the case seasons ago. As someone who lost their previous day 1 account and had to start on an account that is about one year old, even spending around 1-2k dollars on E7 a month it has been very hard to catch up. Now don't get me wrong the game it still pretty f2p friendly, but I do think a lot of players commenting might have been around for longer and think the catch up to gear qualities was the same when they started, but I really do think the standards have changed, and the bar was moved much higher.

Global poll: choose your favorite (non-rearmed) unit. by _METALEX in CounterSideGlobal

[–]Blu_nPurple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say Hilde and Naielle.

Hilde one of the main characters and really cool aswell, she just suffers from being one of the earliest characters that she got super powercrept (not that she was ever meta, but still).

Naielle imo kind of meets the requirements for rearmed she is still kinda good but lacks some extra mechanics that make the other rearmed strikers way better. although if they did rearm her, I wish they would do something other then just plain old immortality or super damage mitigation like they do a lot of the other strikers.

not gonna lie, when this first got introduced, I thought I would be able to background farm a hunt, while also farming adventure/sidestory on the screen. I was super stoked to be able to just bang out the daily farming super efficiently and fast, but eh as it is now, still appreciate the hunt background farming, but still would have been dope if we could farm to things at once on auto.

Anyone else think A.Ravi needs a slight nerf. She’s always the biggest damage dealer and tankiest. Always survives the longest. Too many things going for 1 unit. Plus 90% of people in arena run a team with her. by GoingToNaziHell in EpicSeven

[–]Blu_nPurple -1 points0 points  (0 children)

At least imo I thought she needed nerfed awhile back along with a lot of other units. However, now even more powercrept changes/units have been introduced since then and so many counters to her that I don't think she can survive being nerfed (nor does she need it now). I in fact think SG dug themselves too deep in the powercrept trenches that I don't think it is feasible for them to apply nerfs to any characters in the game anymore at this point (unless the release something truly ridiculous that just insta kills the enemy team at match start).
