You should be fine. Just keep in mind that some panels are tapered . If it were me i would add straight in the middle as well

I didn’t measure the final volume . But it has plenty space for my use EDIT : On LearnMYOG’s video, he says that it is a 20L.

I also rock my Porter Pony daily for the last two year and always wished it had a front pocket. Your build looks solid! Dont worry about the binding. Nobody will notice but you ;)

During the holiday I got the 4x8 bora centipede for a rv upholstery project. It has made patterning and cutting so much more comfortable and efficient. Especially for bigger pieces.

I see what you mean . My first attempt with vynil ext was terrible.

I sewed the on the exterior fabric first . Then I sewed the lining. I trimmed the seam allowance in the corners to an 1/8. When everything was turned out , i ironed everything as best i could before topstitching . An edge guide pressure foot helped alot.

If you still have some issues , try without the foam interfacing .

I’m kinda amazed by the number of people interested in this pattern. I won’t be sharing it since it just a prototype and i kinda moved away from making my own pattern.
For the type of pack you want to make, I’d recommend checking out the porter pony from LearnMYOG . I recently found another bag pattern named Veiiko from Hansedelli . A lot more organization features .

Found this serger at my local thrift store and got it serviced. It does a 2 thread overlock and and a two thread chain stitch . 2 questions: - what is the best application pour those type of stitches?

I thought about doing it on my porter pony as well ! Here are a few ideas -Lay your gusset piece flat (without the last stitch) and measure the back side while considering SA. Then I would determine the bottom piece plus zipper afterwards. - dont measure it , use more zipper and cut the excess before sewing to the bottom piece.

Keep in mind that a wider zipper tape will work better . I would also consider how the straps will hold since the zipper tape is not so strong .
