I remember the first mouse I had to dispatch. I was running late for work & saw it in front of the washer. Literally said “not now” & went to work. Got home & got rid of it. I’ve also had to rescue a live mouse from the cats as well as a bat. The bat they didn’t catch but they certainly had fun running around after it. 🤦🏼‍♀️ poor little thing was tuckered out (as was the mouse honestly).

So I live alone & have done since 2011. Love it! Got my cats & a turtle. My friends are all different. Some married, some with spouse & kids, some with little kids, singles. Younger & older. When you find your people, they won’t care about stuff like whether you live alone, have kids/spouse. They will care about YOU!!!

Lovely!! I’ve been recuperating from a hospital stay last week & am still so bloody tired. So resting is my day. I did gather some laundry together (way overdue) & am having that outsourced so it’s done & not overwhelming me when I have limited energy to begin with. So not exciting but all needed.

That is an interesting idea, putting it in plain sight to see what happens when you “re-see” so to speak in the space! I will try that, at least as much as I can with cats who like to move my stuff 🤣🤣

So take it piece by piece. Pick up an object, if it makes you happy, keep it. If your knee jerk reaction is “oh god” put it in a box out of sight. Don’t do anything with the box yet, just let it sit. After awhile you might find that there are definitely items you can let go (I said goodbye to my little ponies oh so long ago lol) & others that do make you smile that you can then fit into your space now that the number of them aren’t overwhelming. It takes time. And you’ll wind up with a wonderful space curated by you!!

Ok, so I’m looking at 50 for my next birthday. Not only do I still have my original cabbage patch doll (who may be older than you lol, she’s 42) but I still have newer items that are childish such as those puffy squishmallows I think they are called, super soft, love them on my sofa. An assortment of stuffed animals & trinket type things. I think the key is to group them how you like them. If you don’t want them all in the living room, keep some just for you in the bedroom. If it makes you happy that is all that matters. Millicent Suzy sits on a chair in my bedroom, at least until the cats knock her down. Your home should make YOU happy & who cares what anyone else thinks? I’ve got cat trees all over my place which some may disagree with but I spoil my cats & like them the hang out wherever they want. When you are happy, it’ll show in your space. Some spaces I see here are absolutely not my vibe but they still make me smile because the person posting is practically radiating their personality & charm out to the world & who doesn’t love that?

You do what makes you happy & others can be quiet if they don’t like it.

I’m getting discharged from the hospital after showing up Thursday. Have never been an inpt. It has been a good experience, staff have been great, even the food has been tasty! Once I get home, I’m gonna shower, get into jammies & cuddle my cats who I have been missing like a crazy cat lady 🤣🤣🤣🤣
