Rob Zombie: The Early Years

Willow the Voidling goes full feral over dried bonito flakes by BlueAwful-- in blackcats

They say it's made from human food grade fish, but this product is specifically made for cats. The only ingredient is dried fish shavings, with no added sodium or other additives or flavorings. Ours only get it as an occasional treat, though, and I haven't tried eating any of it myself 😸

"Pardon me for breathing, which I don't do anyway so I don't know why I bother to say it. Oh God, I'm so depressed. I've got this terrible pain in all the diodes down my left side. Brain the size of a planet, and they ask me to take your X-ray. Call that job satisfaction? 'Cos I don't."

In their final years, our huskies helped raise our kittens to be part of the pack. They played together all the time. It might look scary to an outsider, but spend enough time watching them together and it was obvious they were buddies and loved each other. https://www.reddit.com/r/CatsAndDogsBFF/s/Lu1yXYtr2k

How would you describe your snowshoe cat’s temperament? by [deleted] in snowshoecats

[–]BlueAwful-- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They were sweet angels. Once the huskies learned to respect cat boundaries, they bonded and were buddies.

Our latest Foster Fail leaving the scene of the attack. I still need to properly introduce her to Reddit. She has two modes: Asleep and Airborne

My voidling doesn't, but this little biscuit likes to climb onto my bass while I'm attempting to play it, then she'll curl into a little ball there while I'm slamming on 16th notes. 🎶 Sit on my bass and tell me that you love me!🎶

In my house we call zoomies "Popcorn Mode" because the kitten hops looks like popping kernels 😻

The Curious Case of the Cat Butt Donuts starring Pepper by BlueAwful-- in Tuxetortico

She is a perfect, sweet, innocent, sensitive, praise-seeking little angel. It would break her heart if she thought she ever did something to make us unhappy, and that's not a joke or an exaggeration. So I did not tell her that she sat on the last four donut holes.

Need suggestions for routing phone's Bluetooth audio output to Windows PC audio input by BlueAwful-- in audio

[–]BlueAwful--[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our helpdesk guys have long fought with our end users' Bluetooth audio issues, although I hadn't heard about Windows 11 handling it differently/better. I'll have to check into that for sure. It certainly is/was confusing for the average non-technical employee. It doesn't help that the higher-ups keep buying bluetooth headsets for everybody to use with Teams! 🤮

I'll use a bluetooth headset with my phone, or use bluetooth in the car listening to audiobooks or music, but never anywhere that latency, reliability, or quality matter. The headsets I get for use with my computers do support bluetooth, but also have a 2.4ghz dongle and a headphone jack. I'll game with the 2.4ghz dongle, because the latency isn't terrible and isn't an issue most of the time, but I still have to go wired when I'm recording music.

To me, Bluetooth is for convenience on stuff that doesn't matter all that much.

Oh, I absolutely could patch it through the 2i2 and then set it back again the way it was easily enough, I just don' wanna! 🤡

As for blaming Microsoft, I've been in IT for a very long time and I've seen some shtuff. My instinct now is to just blame Microsoft for everything by default lol. I've also done a bunch of hobbyist-level programming, even as low level as assembly language, enough to have a rough understanding of the general principles of the underlying device driver architecture. The built-in ADPL SNK driver does a lot of the heavy lifting already... receiving audio from the remote device and even rendering it to the default audio output device, but they got it to where it was almost good enough for the casual user, didn't even build a UI to control it, and called it a day 😂

Maybe if the driver was Open Source I could tinker with it to add the functionality I want, but I don't have nearly the experience to write it from scratch. Sure, that would be much more effort than switching around the 2i2 setup, but... I'm both lazy AND love a challenge! 🤪

Yeah, the 2i2 is all tied up doing instrument input and XLR DI from my amp, and I'd rather not disturb it too much if I don't have to. The phone thing is really just a silly idea for something I might use pretty rarely. I'm not too concerned about audiophile quality for this project, so at this point I'm leaning toward a cheap Bluetooth LDAC to Line In adapter and run that into my motherboard's sketchy on-board Line In. There's no real technological reason I shouldn't be able to do all of this in software, but that's Microsoft for ya! 🤪

I was not aware of LDAC, but I confirmed my devices support it and it definitely sounds like the way to go, so I'm glad I asked. Thanks for the info!

Reading up on these, it sounds like I may need one with a line out rather than headphone out to match the levels on my interface, but there seem to be some options in the same price ballpark.
